Mage Tower - Restrictions

They seem to be. Taken from the WoWhead article

" We weren’t exactly sure what kind of normalization Blizzard would choose as the Mage Tower has not been publicly tested. However, we previously datamined the new spell [![PvP Stats - Spec Stat Template - All Specs (Mage Tower Edition)] which is basically identical to the Legion PvP stat template spell [![PvP Stats - Spec Stat Template - All Specs]"

Ohh no, stupid people will cry about stupid things, what a disaster. Also 107% of r/wow already unsubscribed according to comments, so I hardly see why does it matter.

Quite the list. They should take a note and stop making so many different borrowed powers in one expansion. Just design 1-2 systems and keep evolving those over the expansion. Also the borrowed power shouldn’t define your spec just add to it.

The current game is enough of a ‘Mage Tower’ as it is… I’m not good enough a player for that level of content.

You are absolutely right, but the sad truth is that more systems = more play time metric.

I’m not interested in challenging game content, but I wish everyone who do try the Mage Tower the best of luck! :crossed_fingers:

So I need to change pants? D: and however will I survive without convoke?!

Not exactly, I’m glad it comes back but the transmog for paladins is just one I don’t see myself using.
It’s not my favourite set they’ve recoloured and it’s not my favourite colour scheme ever (feels very alliance centric for the paladin)
I’d prefer if they, rather then add in new colour schemes, give us access to the existing yet for player unavailable colour schemes (like for example the red/black antorus set for paladins) and make it multiple (already existing without player usable item) different sets to add both choice and more reasons to keep doing it.
Right now if the recolour assigned to your class doesn’t hit your style there’s just not much to get out of the timewalking variant of the mage tower.

It will be overtuned or easy there is no middle ground when it comes to scaling and “normalizing”. Also all classes are useless and unplayable without covenant+Sl legendary, it is sad truth, if you do not believe me go to target dummy, take your covenant ability of the bar, unequip legendary, remove your conduits and see for yourself. But lets us go logical on on it, they put mount for doing all 7 bosses, it is time limited event, so my prediction is it is something to make people buy sub and do it fast , so it will be easy but not completely faceroll.

I would, but I don’t have a PTR access :frowning:
The idea is neat, however, and makes sense: with Legion borrowed powers already unavailable and the rest being disabled, it’s not that punishing to those that haven’t really given a dang about grinding outside of Raid/keys/pvp this expansion, making only your gear and own personal skill relevant (or only skill, if you are scaled back alog with gear).

Disabling BfA/SL only stuff makes sense in a timewalking, after all, it’s as if we didn’t know about those xpacs yet, giving one an almost full immersion of the past.

I will for sure try it when it gets to live

Because of that Blizzard need rebalance all classes. Because some of them chose they stats dependent on covenant and legendary.

It wasn’t balanced back then in Legion either. We got different classes and we have to do the same content. It can not be balanced.

Everyone has PTR access just create an account (assuming you have a subscription)

Or simply the MT will be way easier and comparable to Argus MT difficulty level.

You literally could equip random gear, the first leggo you dropped and facerolled most of them. Provided you could at least use WASD properly.

Which isn’t true is it? You had to cc certain mobs at certain times, have a moderate understanding of the class. There were (relatively) complex mechanisms to follow on several of the towers especially if you did it early on.

I did many of them (22 I think) but don’t make out they were not at least a slight challenge it is disrespectful to those that couldn’t do it (and there were many at the time)

Speak for yourself maybe?
I never played Survival, Ele shaman, Outlaw, Disci, Tank Pala and countless of others and leveled a lot of those during the Argus patch just to get the MT appearances, and most of those were one shots during Argus.

I leveled a character, got them to 920~ usually got a leggo while doing it and jumped into the challenge.

But i was talking about the Argus patch? So what’s your point again?

During Argus? Not really, most of the challenge I did during that patch , prolly around 15~(but mostly cause I did those that I like and I never aimed at 36), took me usually from 1 to 3 tries.
Is 3 tries a challenge for you?

I mean most of the times I never saw the challenge before and needed to at least SEE the boss. But difficult? In Argus patch? No, it was a joke.

Oh right, another person offended by literally everything.
THEY WERE SUPER HARD DURING ARGUS! I SWEAR! I WAS JOKING BEFORE! THE SWEAT, THE HORROR!

Better now? More “respectful”?

I did exactly the same as you at did, often one shot them too (do we get a medal?) I was attempting to suggest you could have more humility and not just say something is ‘really easy’ just because you can do it. There are many different players on here and it is likely you are above the mean in skill.

Try and walk a mile in someone else’s shoes. Was my point.

I must be offended if I disagree or have a counter point. I am not offended in the slightest, are you ok? You sound a bit hyped up (all those capital letters).

Was just trying to be human.

Probably, it may expedite the release!

Also, I want the druid set.
It’s the most taurenesque looking set in the game. Thus it is needed for my soul.

The dps challenges really got a lot easier with better equip.
Mostly because even by playing bad you still did more dmg as a really good player from 1-2 patches before. Also most wipe mechanics couldn’t insta kill you anymore.

Tank and healer on the other hand didn’t have it so easy. No equip could safe you from being kicked off the platform when you were careless for a moment as tank, and Velen was still pretty squishy.
Same for the group in the healer challenge where you had to keep an eye on them most of the time. And bad luck where the boss jumped on you when you were alrwady low from his debuff still quickly lead to a fail even with better equip.

But if I had to guess I would say that Affli locks will probably struggle the most.
After all the trick to have the boss attack your infernal instead of you wasn’t well known for no reason. I don’t know of too many WLs who did the challenge as intended
