I think Blizzard should make parts of WOW Classic open source so developers can add content to the game, which is then voted on (to be included) by every subscriber or at least everyone who has a Classic character at level 60.
Everquest tried to do this but failed horribly by thinking standard players could do everything that is required.
To design & engineer a game it takes a whole big team of people and around the world today we have so many new programmers, 3d artists, screen writers etc.
I think Blizz needs to give in some where to allow players more say in the games development.
Perhaps go by the EvE online model?
The 1 thing no ever MMORPG has had is a huge community on the scale that has resulted to making pservers to try and build the WOW they want to play (illegally).
Blizz could have a whole army of developers that donât even get paid!
I think they are mad not to take advantage of the opportunity. Make profit for them for sure.
Note: Ubuntu is open source yet still makes a good amount of money.

Why is there so much classic talk here?? Iâm here to read about the current iteration of the game, itâs so bizzare. Itâs actually as bad as the number of retail posts we have on classic

Its like Classic players arenât allowed to chat in general discussion or something? Only loyal followers of retail allowed?
Itâs that the classic forums are for classic?

Open Source for a Classic? </Opening the Gates for Hackers/>

Itâs because you have your own here: https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/c/wow-classic/wow-classic-discussion
There have been forum posts made by Classic players saying we shouldnât be allowed to comment on their forums, so why should you be allowed to use ours?

Itâs clearly a suggestion for classic, itâs w classic discussion. It doesnât take a lot of brains to understand that.
I donât like the idea. Making WoW opensource would just hurt Blizzard and retail as well, as it could create possible competition for absolutely no reason. This is probably the worst decision they could make business wise as well.
I meanâŚthey kind of do already. Blizzard are very slow to update WoWâs ui partially because they have third party devs to make add-ons for free.
AlsoâŚyea why is this not in the Classic forum?
This isnât retail discussion
Itâs general discussion
General is generally all inclusive
Some of us post on both and play on both and its post like these that make me want to exclusively post in nonclassic forums with classic account and post in classic forums with nonclassic account
Yea but i linked that one because the lyrics matches with ââOpen gates for Hacksââ
I mean the lyrics of the Dance with the Devil âŚ
In âmyâ there is nice moment with the text âOpen the gates to hellâ didnât want to advertise my fav music genre ^^
Yes? Literally this. You have your own forums, scram.

The purpose of having topic-specific forum sections is so that people can read about the subjects that they are interested in. There is a Classic section for players who are interested in Classic. Here, in this section, people are interested in modern WoW and topics surrounding it. Just post Classic subjects where they are on-topic.
The flood of Classic subjects in this section feels a bit like evangelizing if not trolling, and doesnât get a positive reception.
