Maldraxxus got it right tho. You’ve got the whole metal roster (via references) by the time you reached the Seat of the Primus.
I’d argue that “Metal” isn’t just dragons, it’s also a sinister and edgy (like ICC level of edgy) atmosphere.
The only dragons I would consider metal-ish are Fyrrak and Raszageth. Certainly none of the Aspects, definitely not Chromie, not Ebonhorn and the others I don’t remember.
Yes, we see dragons fight in DF, but none of it is anywhere near something like Vashj’ir where you’re:
- Disrupting a Twilight Hammer’s ritual
- Inside the carved out flesh, bones and pouring blood of an ancient shell god
- As he’s communicating to you that his life is fading away.
- Did I mention they built a temple around his heart for the ritual?
I don’t think a questline like this would make it past beta testing these days. As wouldn’t other questlines people have mentioned. Which is just sad and probably the reason why I’m falling asleep while questing.
I’ve skipped almost every cutscene/movie in df/pre-patch…
You can’t post such things. I do. It gets removed. Trust. It’s the new way. You log in only to be greeted by depressed characters like the keeper titan guy that sits and sounds likes he’s about to drop some loot.
I obviously don’t have any statistics but it is a mystery to me why Blizzard keeps WoW PG 12+. I think the majority of the playerbase is made of adults. If they raised the rating to 14+ or 16+, we could receive more deep and meaningful stories.
I don’t think it’s the age rating that keeps the game’s story down.
There is definitely a big difference between Pegi 12+ and Pegi 16+:

But I agree that it is just a part of the problem.
…and their feet.
I’d rather see WoW be made more reggae.
100% for WoW being more metal or warhammer again!!!
Metal is much more than dark and edginess. That’s exactly my point. Metal is also high fantasy, it’s often emotional, it can be about valour and righteousness.
Reducing metal to ICC edginess is pretty narrow imo.
What about Helloween? Rhapsody? Hammerfall? Nightwish? Stratovarius? Sonata Arctica? All these fit perfectly with Dragonflight for example.
The 2nd “part” of that song “The hobbit” is a metal song about Bilbo Baggins. Bilbo is metal!
I liked they put npc named Tapani Nightwish in Maldraxxus in shadowlands to honor the band, other band themed names too
I remember seeing Finntroll live when Tapio Wilska was their vocalist, it was awesome! One of the most energetic concerts I’ve ever been to!
It really does give off “i’m 16 and only listen to death metal/deathcore/Slayer” vibes which is a phase that i reckon most just kinda grow out of again after a while.
If anything increasing it can potentially ruin some of what both makes and has made WoW WoW in that area. Usually it’d just result in “but what if we could make it grimdark for the sake of wanting to be edgy”.
It’d also make it a good deal harder to market without leaning fully into the grimdark/gory bits for marketing purposes.
Nah, make WoW more Nightcore if anything else. That’s what I love listening to when I am in gaming mood.
Or they never went through that phase.
I never liked heavy metal or any of the other metal genres. I was into grunge and alternative rock when I was a teenager and young adult.
The only ‘metal’ I listened to was nu-metal at some point. But that’s not really metal, now is it?
Nowadays I tend to listen to more relaxed music.
You sound like a PvP fan.
I gave up with PvP when MoP was still new. Main reason I gave up, because it wasn’t so much about skill it was more about what gear you were wearing. I used to do a lot of BG’s before MoP.
Did try it again in WoD on that island, but never really got back into it. Not bothered with any since.
Nop I m not a PvP fan.
But I hate the actual relation between horde and alliance, its hello kitty adventure.
Imagine wars, in world of WARrcraft
