Because that narrative went SO well and was SO popular in BFA when we had it forced upon us for the bajillionth time.
I don’t care about constant all out war, I’m much more interested into exploration and adventure, I’m interested in the WORLD part, not the WAR part.

bring back WAR to WARcraft. If Metzen is going on a stage saying that “It’s time to come home.” Then it’s valid to say that the vibe, the current lore - It doesn’t feel like home anymore.
Where should I return to? To listen to NPCs who are depressed, change whelp diapers in whelp daycare? To listen to over and over again: TOGETHER TOGETHER TOGETHER?
This couldn’t be further from home.
Also it’s good to see that I’m not the only one who feels that way.

Even Dragonflight could have been metal.
For example, if Wrathion actually defeated Sabellian and claimed the position of the Aspect of the Black Dragonflight, just to realize that adventuring was not the same as ruling. He could have either grown into the role or hand it over to Sabellian, admitting that he was more fit for it. To me at least, this could have been a more interesting journey.
Or Vyranoth. Everybody seems to trust her just because Alexstraza seems to trust her. She has betrayed her kin and joined us. But traitors are traitors, there could have been more sniffing around her by SI:7 or other characters voicing their mistrust. Nope, let’s just accept her without any considerations.

And what are the Primalists, the Djaradin? Our best friends? There was lots of “war” in dragonflight. There even was a small scale civil war among Drakonids.
War is between 2 countries

Well I think the world has enough wars and it’s only going to get worse as resources become tighter.
Plus the world is already over populated and all the human race does is keep adding more. Seems the human race never learns.
But even if you look at Dragonflight and the conflict there, then the Primalists and the Djaradin are pretty poor as far as being enemies.
They are just set up to be target dummies.
They are random enemies that have no meaning outside of existing as target dummies for us to beat up.
Then each of them get a leader or two that we then get to beat up in a raid, but the whole approach is the same.
And then in The War Within we switch the Primalists and Djaradin for zealots and spiders and do the exact same thing again.
And in Midnight it’ll be trolls and void creatures I assume.
And in The Last Titan it’s probably titan constructs and undead.
That’s skin-deep.
That doesn’t pose a hero vs. villain dichotomy that is interesting on any level whatsoever.
There’s as much depth to the Primalists as there is to the Gnolls in Elwynn Forest.
