And it’s reactions such as this, why I can’t take some people serious anymore.
Oh noes, I had to hear someone talk about feelings, now I’m scarred for life.
Get. A. Grip.
I don’t think most people are opposed to a healthy balance, though there has not been much in the way of a healthy balance in recent years.
For example I would like to see more competent, stoic male characters and see more women killed off and actually held accountable for their actions instead of being written to commit horrific atrocities only to be deceptively presented as the biggest victims at the expense of any meaningful justice.
(Strangely there doesn’t appear to be an aversion to killing off male characters and holding them accountable for their horrific actions…)
I would like to see Sylvanas and Vereesa handled the same way as Garrosh, personally.
Why does it matter if someone doesn’t want to expose their main character, especially on a forum notorious for having creepy, unhinged stalkers who will aggressive follow individuals who post ‘wrong think’ across multiple different threads?
It’s not a difficult concept to grasp. Not everybody does or should wear their emotions on their sleeves. Different personality types exist, some men are very stoic and do not waver in that approach.
As such, a broad variety of characters is efficient to appeal to a broader variety of personal tastes.
I very much doubt anyone here is losing sleep over it, they are simply using the forum to leave feedback and discuss the game as intended.
Okay, then don’t. Hope you will find some other threads that will suit you.
It’s more of a constant onslaught of weak voice acting paired with a subjectively weak story.
Luckily we haven’t quite reached Wuk Lamat levels of dubious voice acting. Yet.
A silver lining, eh?
Of course it matters. If someone truly believes what they’re saying and stand by it, they should be man enough to post it on their actual character.
There actually has been balance. It’s just that some people can only seem to focus on the things they dislike.
Now; I’m not going to pretend as if the balance has been perfect. It hasn’t. But it’s not as bad as some people try to make it out to be.
Sounds very specific. You want to talk about it?
Neh. That’d be repetitive.
Now; I’m not a Sylvanas fan. She stopped ‘being cool’ after vanilla for me personally.
So I’m all for getting rid of her permanently.
But if you’re looking for ‘women being killed off’ (I feel dirty for saying that - I honestly think you have issues), we just got some new baddies who are female. So… Gratz?
Sylvannas stoped being cool since long time ago, blizzard rigged this character.
She s a monster and deservs hell.
Arthas lost his soul and was under control of nerzhul when he grab the sword.
Sylvannas has her free will since “the frozen throne”
Like WoW has always had. Nothing new there.
It was just themes you liked more then. That’s really it, isn’t it?
What’s wrong with Ebyssian? Sabellian? Senegos? Nozdormu? Captain Travard? Wrathion? Kalecgos?
What is “stoic” even supposed to mean in this context? Followers of stoicism? Or rather just “not emotional”?
Also the big bad of the first season was female and absolutely held accountable for her actions.
Also, I mean, come on, I’m trying to be serious here, but you “want to see more women killed”? That just comes across weird, man.
We want more lorthemar lookalike npcs
About female dead npcs.
Can you named 5 female npc who died?
Arthas, varian, kael thas, uther, tirion, hellscream, etc the list is long
And very short for females npcs
In Warcraft history? Yes loads.
In WoW’s time:
High Inquisitor Sally Whitemane
Princess Theradras
Onyxia
Lady Vashj
Xe’ra
Raszageth
But why is that?
Because most of WoW’s heroes and big villains were men. So it’s only logical they died the most.
Whitemane is not dead
Theradras and Xe ra wtf?..
Female.
Ok then I ll count Hogger? -__-
I don’t believe so, for the reasons I outlined in my post. I don’t think there’s any reason to doubt that they are speaking earnestly.
I’m sure there’s threads where people can discuss the aspects of the game that they enjoy.
It’s very subjective. What is an issue to one individual is not necessarily going to be a problem for somebody else and the reverse is true as well.
I won’t derail the thread with a deep dive into a lore debate but…simply put, I agree with the decision for Garrosh to be killed off for his crimes in the narrative. I take issue with the likes of Vereesa and Sylvanas having their own gleeful torture of innocent civilians dismissed and more recently in the case of Vereesa retconned and downplayed.
There’s a rather notable double standard in the way in which women are handled in the story as opposed to the men.
I think you are either misjudging my stance or trying to portray it as something completely different to what it is. I am specifically calling out the double standard and it is one that is present in many settings.
Some of my favourite characters are complex female antagonists - such as Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones, Victoria Grayson from Revenge and Scarlet from Final Fantasy VII.
As I’m sure you would agree, it would be strange if they never suffered any meaningful, lasting consequences for even their most horrific of actions.
That is my point.
My favorite characters are most of the time vilains and females
But i dont think we ll see alleria, jaina and maybe Xalatath die
Sylvanas is currently in the Maw doing penance for what she did. What exaclty would you have happen to her? Kill her? What exact outcome would that have that would be worse than what happened to her now?
Then we’ll have to agree to disagree.
If someone hides their already anonymous identity, that says something.
Way less. Because that’s just human nature.
Complaining comes naturally. Making compliments is hard.
Sure, but there’s still the objective point of ‘proportions’.
And those have been fairly alright.
It skewed to the ‘dark and edgy’ in Shadowlands and it skewed to the ‘hopeful and upbeat’ in Dragonflight.
Probably has more to do with them being popular characters with a large subset of the playerbase and the devs wanting to keep their options open. I think, anyway. It’s all guess work of course.
Sure. Like I said: I wouldn’t mind seeing Sylvanas gone.
I don’t know much about Vereesa honestly (and what atrocities you’re referring to); I’ve never been a big Warcraft lore buff because I’ve always found the stories to be the weakest link of the franchise.
I think she ll come back with her former and living body in midnight. As a reward and 2nd chance.
