One thing i thinks needs too be improved is that the ignore function - it just blocks any communication, but what if the blocked player disapear from you screen too. Cause blocking a person would not stop the person too mount up on there mammoth, toys as tools for annoyance towards role players. Not sure bout the rest but adding that would be great least for rp realms i think. The right click report thing has not worked well in my experience.
You can voice your concerns which is exactly whatâs happening.
It was overturned in 24 hours, though Swifty was one of the few that didnât really have an intention on doing it. I do think it shouldâve been levied(Not a perm) on the 2 most recent culprits however. Their ruling on this stuff at least internally, has definitely changed. But all we can do is to give feedback.
God I wish. Soon enough Iâd have the couple thousand OOCers on my list and Trade District / Valley of Strength would be once again open for RP.
And you think one guy without any friends or like-minded people to support him can achieve something on that scale? I seriously doubt that.
And how exactly does any of this forum complaining about OOCers help?
No, I just think that you should try being less aggressive because it wonât do you much good, as shown by the fact that the OOCers are still likely the majority of ADâs population, and I doubt that any of this threads are going to slow the influx of OOCers down even a bit.
But I guess we can just agree to disagree on this, and thatâs fine. I wish you best of luck I guess.
If ignore worked like this, very few people me included would care about OOCers very much at all
Do you think people just spawn in with friends? Like you get a starter kit of friends like in a video game or what
I think the proof is in the pudding my friend
Yeah sadly youâre wrong in your thoughts here
Yeah true you too
Iâm not sure complaining on a forum is breaking any rules. High chance to be ignored? Maybe. But it doesnât mean we shouldnât try.
Rp-pvp enables griefers to shut RP down much more effectively than yelling, yaks, whatever. AD also has the âadvantageâ of being the last RP server so that people canât just move to a different server if they notice that they canât RP properly because of an unfriendly enviroment.
Still, the effects of pvp griefing and other griefing are the same with differing intensity. You hinder RP and create a hostile enviroment for RPers. If we risk that more griefers come to AD, the consequences for RPers would be comparable to what RPers had to suffer on DB. The result is the same with the difference that the demise of AD would come more slowly.
Then where would anyone do their AH and banking! Unless you advocate never going OOC which is radical but innovative!
roleplay is about never going OOC Roleplayers emote defecating and sleeping roleplayers emote-fight bosses
Rolling over and being submissive has never saved anyone. Being more tactful with our approach? Sure. Being welcoming and tolerant? Nah.
People underestimate the importance of a huge community. Much like in real life, people often leave a small town to get into a city filled of opportunities - and this leaves the towns with less and less people as the city grows. The lack of people on other RP servers has followed a similar trend: AD offered all that small realms had to offer, and then more.
Some people moved for the concepts, others for the numbers, others for their friends.
If I watch back during Cata/MoP, the hot topic around small servers was quality (said small servers) vs quantity (AD), and the idea that people moving servers was damaging the community beyond repair.
Thatâs just not true.
What are the clown emojis for! Iâm genuinely asking! You said you wanted Trade District and Valley of Strength to be strictly IC zones instead of having OOCers around!
In the first place I donât know what he is advocating for. Griefers will always remain just like we will always struggle to fight for our place here. The approach doesnât even matter - itâs a double-edged sword where weâre damned if we do and damned if we donât.
But I find being firm to fight against a flood of OOCers does less harm than just letting them do as they please.
Are you denying that people do that? The crazy lengths you will go to to be contrarian are inspiring
I think thereâs a difference between an RPer silently doing something OOC in the trade district and a guy called bigkillerqt standing rly powerfully in the doors of the AH saying poggers 100 times a second
Well, Iâm pretty sure you couldnât have created the PCU on Defias Brotherhood or one of the other dead RP realms if you had started all by yourself.
What proof? All you did was shut down one ERP guild, which, while commendable, is just a drop in the bucket. Pneither you nor anyone else have managed to remove OOOcers from AD with this attitude.
I agree with that. At least try to be more tactful. You donât have to let anyoneâs roll over you, thatâs not what I meant. But you should not go to the other extreme either and just reeeeeee at OOCers like this either. I just donât think it will amount to anything.
Thatâs about it from me. I want AD to be a successful and fun server for RPers, but I ultimately disagree about many here are going on about it. Letâs just agree to disagree. I hope that things will get better either way.
Thatâs partially true but DB and Shaâtar were valid options for RP. Even Moonglade sort of was in the early 2010s. When the RP servers were targeted over time many just sought greener pastures in AD and from there I can see your point of those first refugees being followed by others.
How do you think I created it on AD? Do you think I made some golems out of clay and willed them to life?
I really donât get your angle here
The proof will be within the eating of the pudding I think
Better 1 drop in the bucket than 0 drops
Then your wording needs work because thatâs what you appear to advocate
I am denying it damages the community and makes people quit the server, or prevents you from role-playing.
I have always agreed griefing is an annoyance, but in terms of negativity Iâd say it is just that: an annoyance that takes some of your time away, but doesnât prevent you from doing your hobby if you are dedicated to it. Much like it is an annoyance to get ganked in world PvP, or wait that one player that is AFK when you do PvE of arenas.
Edit.
Yeah - report it and move on.
Why I never take part in rp pvp, the last time had a funny man gank me while I was afk and out of the way of the rpers really, and that was the last time I have took part in it.
