Massive FPS Drops.. game's stuttering, nothing works

Some, but mostly prebuilds with so many different hardware models/brands and they all got same issue in WoW only.

Stuttering only in Warcraft on the Dragon Isles with the sound turned on. Any manipulations with your system and drivers will not help. The problem is in the game code and in the software conflict

The stuttering happens on windows 10 too.

That might be in your case, but ALL the systems I’ve tested got stutters even with sound off and everywhere on WoW, whenever players load in. From Valdrakken to Org/SW to most remote, and least performance taxing area you can think of.

so whats the plan guys … im stuck in garrison palying arenas :expressionless:

At least you get to farm some honor badges…coins whatever they are :stuck_out_tongue:

Same problem with Windows 11 / RTX 3090 / i9-11900K
Same problem on M1 Mac mini

Im just had freez 30 sec on rated bg (all options on low) game looks like from 90s" but still cannot play m+/raids/rbg if the problem not change i just cancel my sub.

I feel so ripped off by this company. Paid for the game and subscription and barly played for the past two months. Communication and fix time is simply offensive. No idea what they are doing. Maybe you don’t know game still stutters Blizzard.

Same here. Stuttering even on arena, don’t know why.
Drivers, Windows update done already, won’t work. Hope, they will fix it as soon, as possible.

still persists here too

Well I gave up on waiting for the stuttering problem to be fixed and have now started levelling. And to be fair, due to the extreme phasing in the new zones and barely seeing any other players (think I’ve seen only about 3 so far) the stuttering is not really a major problem for me outdoors doing quests and exploring.

You can tell when there’s another player nearby as the freezing still happens, seems actually worse than it was around Oribos where I was testing before, now it pauses for up to 0.5 secs but mostly about 0.2 secs or so.

Is this why they’ve taken phasing in the outdoors to such an extreme level, to cover up the stuttering problem? Have never seen such a lack of other players in new zones, feels like playing a single player game.

Just passing by to bump this thread since blizzard is waiting for it to die and ignore their unprofessional work.

Logged in today after a couple days break and as soon as i enter the world wow freezes with an out of memory message. The last time i saw this was when Blizzard broke the Wintergrasp BG a couple months back where most people could not play for a week. I have been using nvidia`s geforce experience optimised settings for world of warcraft with v-sync disabled as i have a g-sync monitor. I no longer use any addons what so ever but i am still not able to play the game now at all from today. Before i would have a little play time before the FPS tanked to unplayable levels but now i cant even enter the gaming world without memory leak message poping up within 5 minutes. Here is the error message i get.

This application has encountered a critical error:

Blizz back from christmas break yet? Time to get to work I feel?

My WoW client has just been flat out blue screening my computer. In Shadowlands my computer could run the game at graphics quality 8-10 with few problems but now it has to run it at graphics quality 4. I’ve been keeping task manager up as I play and I noticed that it’s got a lot to do with the outdoors as on an Algeth’ar Academy run while outside my game was consuming over 4,000MB of memory and climbing but then suddenly dropped down to just under 3,000MB while inside the final boss room. Then when I went to Ironforge my game was consuming just around 2,000MB so this sudden bloat whenever you’re outside on the Isles is definitely down to optimisation issues. I’ll also add that only WoW is having this issue, no other MMO or game I’ve played this month has caused my computer to consume critical amounts of memory and blue screen.

Potential solution:

So, I experienced a massive FPS drop today, after rolling back my GPU drivers, updating windows, turning off all add ons, disabling Corsair iCue software etc etc I went through the GPU settings.

For some reason unbeknownst to me the setting ‘Max Foreground FPS toggle’ had moved itself to ZERO, I don’t know if this was a nvidia optimisation change or what caused this, but I moved the slider back to where it should be and it fixed the issue.

This may not be the case for the vast majority of you, but for someone this might work.

There are so many different issues not related to the stuttering discussed in this thread now that it has become totally useless…gg people

Create a new frikkin thread if u have problems that is not related to stuttering ffs. So tired of this whole thing

This is exactly what I’m thinking also. I’m so sick of people who throw every single issue they have here. This is STUTTERING thread, how hard is to understand that?!
