My mind is still stuck in pre-consolidating key levels, so it’s +1 to +10 and I profusely ignore Mythic 0 because it breaks the logical order.
It is what it is.
Why did all the classes become bloated in Dragonflight? Because Blizzard thought, that if it’s fun for the esports crowd for Echo and Liquid, the game would have many viewers on twitch, and get many young players. That never happened. Class bloat only hurt the game, it didn’t add a single positive. PvP is on the decline due to class design bloat, and PvE is less accessible.
It turns out that competitive aspect thrives the most in games, if the average joe is having fun and understands the game, not if the competitive players have as much skill expression as possible.
The exact same happens for dungeons. Make it too annoying and unfun to play for the average joe, that forms to base, and the whole tower is gonna shake slowly until it falls over.
The gradual step is doing them on normal and heroic first. Then mythic. Then m+. U dont have to go straight into m+ and be overwhelmed by all the mechanics. Start at a lower difficulty then.
Come on mate you’re turning yourself into a pretzel.
You were recently talking about 670 ilevel tanks joining your Delves because they like to play with people and how that’s the spirit of an MMO. Now it’s about playing with AI?
Do you think I forgot that?
You also surely know that FF14 already has dungeons you can do with NPCs from your time there during the Shadowlands exodus.
If your design goal is to broaden up Mythic+ and make it accessible to a wider audience and ensure that they have a positive and succesful experience with the game mode, then you would never ever in a million years design it so that there’s such a huge barrier to entry.
It’s awful.
You can have that design if you just want Mythic+ to be a game mode for an established sub-set of players that just have to be maintained. Like Arena of old. Same old conservative design to maintain the interest of the same sub-set of players. Pure upkeep.
But if the goal is for Mythic+ to be more of a spotlight feature for WoW that’s supposed to attract and engage a broader audience, then you can’t have this huge barrier to entry. It doesn’t work.
Well Ask yourself why i see those tanks in t11 dvelves and somehow you dont see those tanks or healers quing for +2 or +5 dungeons.
We all know the answer - because the rewards in literaly everything below +10 are garbage way out of whack with effort to reward ratio .
If 670 tank sees it to be worth to spend 15 minutes in t11 dvelves for 7 gilded crests over doing m+ 7-9 to get more gilded crests ? Something is very wrong with m+
I view it as like being in a band. We learn our instrument (class) and we then have to learn individual songs (dungeons/raids).
I don’t just sit at a piano and hope I can sing and play November Rain at the same time. Then get on the piano and do the guitar solos. I’ve got to practice all those things if I want to do them all.
Frankly I don’t think it matters what you do to lower m+ as long as delves are as easy as they are and equally as rewarding people won’t do them unless out of necessity to level their key.
The vast majority isn’t doing well in the current system. That’s why so many people hate LFG, why so many people are stuck in a toxic loop of bad groups, why matchmaking is being discussed in the first place.
People are spending way more time trying to get into keys than actually doing the dungeons. And when they finally get in they’re stuck with uncooperative players because LFG doesn’t match based on skill.
Don’t pretend like the system is doing well. It’s failing the majority of players.
I mean yeah we could add queue able m+ and cowtow to the demands of the players who want frictionless gameplay and make myth track loot rain from the sky from trivial content, if that’s the game you want then I’m all for it.
But if you’re going to do that, make challenging content scale players to a fixed ilvl. We can have our challenge content and you can have your number go up simulator and neither of us have to mix or do anything we don’t enjoy.
The number is going to hit 1000 soon, I assume that’ll be a big day for you guys.
So what…we have to use the parse system? The only metric we have? You have 30th percentile parses on that guy in M+…what kind of players do you think you would get?
It’s irrelevant. We’re talking about fixing the system for everyone. Your personal experience doesn’t change the fact that the system is broken for the majority of players.
