I also still affirm the only real reason we haven’t seen proper news on Sethrak is because they don’t want people thinking they’re taking priority over the Worgen model upgrade.
That doesn’t really tell me anything about sethrak culture. They use lightning, ok I knew that. They revere the keepers, do they think of them as gods or at least demi-gods? It’s never said anywhere because Blizzard didn’t bother. Just by doing Vol’dun you can say that vulpera had much more thought behind them than sethrak.
If they ever release them, they’ll be a horde allied race. Sethraliss is a part of zandalari recruitment quest-line and Children’s Week has even a quest with bringing a zandalari orphan to the Temple of the Devoted. Unless we are getting the faithless branch, because Sethraliss is officially our enemy.
Also, vulpera were developed even before goblin model update was announced. In other words
They won’t go Horde; disregarding lore, a mere technical standpoint proves as much; we’re not going to see both a Goblin and Worgen allied race on Horde. Vulpera and Sethrak are, unlike Mechagnomes, mutually exclusive, and nobody can suggest Vulpera will go Alliance.
Sethraliss was forgotten by the Zandalari for ages, and the Sethrak are interacting with them now only because they’re an old ally; but I doubt they’ll approve of recent revelations, such as Bwonsamdi becoming patron Loa.
And the Worgen and Goblin model update has been going on for ages, so that point is irrelevant, disregarding the fact we weren’t even meant to know Vulpera were an AR, hence encryption.
The Horde got the Mag’har, who were our enemies 2 expacts ago.
The Horde got the Nightborne, who were our enemy 1 expact ago.
Maybe it’s time for the Alliance to get someone who was once our enemy, now our ally. (Outside of DI Dwarfs, that is)
As you said, now that the devoted are buddy buddy with the Ztroll again, now would be a gooder time as any.
when blizzard give an underrated non-wanted mecha gnome allied race instead of sethrak or some other long awaited allied race
like i genuinley dont know anyone who has been like “YES FINALLY, MORE GNOMES”
You say this yet in the rest of your post, you ignore all evidence which shows us that devoted sethrak are buddies with zanda trolls and vulpera (aka next horde allied race). They have no reason to like the Alliance, especially after Dazar’alor was sieged and Rasty dabbed on.
And who knows, could be the Redeemed are really coming. That would be a swap (a kind of forsaken themed race for the Alliance and worgen skeleton for the Horde).
Void elves are also enemies made allies. Even Kul Tirans were not exactly the friends of the Alliance until recently.
Thanks for admitting to the accusation, makes things easier.
The Sethrak having two npcs in Dazar means little; they have no actual interaction aside from being there. They have never been shown as friends to Vulpera, only ever sharing a common enemy before the Vulpera have gone right back to wary hatred.
Lightforged Undead don’t exist. Calia is the only example and she has never appeared in game. They have even less going for them than Velves did at the end of Legion. To even suggest they are a serious contender is nonsense.
Not only is this statement a reach, your also actually proving his point?
Make up your mind.
Ok, fair enough. Now give me a reason why would (the devoted) sethrak ally with the Alliance, when we killed Rastakhan? Rakera and that other guard saved them, together with the champion of the horde that was send there from Zuldazar and who later went on and killed Mythrax, their arch-nemesis. All the Alliance did was save Vorrik, nothing more.
Hey, they actually won in the community poll, gaining more votes than sethrak. Link for proof -
He said it’s time for the Alliance to get someone who was once our enemy as our ally. I replied that it has already happened, at least twice, maybe thrice, if you count Kul Tirans. Read more carefully, laddie.
Tbh, I don’t see how giving the Alliance the legacy of Lordaeron it’s due, with rules that makes sense of course - like no new undead being risen by the light, just already undead people getting “redeemed” - would butcher the lore more than giving us a literal loa-worshipping beastmen from Zandalar.
Why would the Sethrak care about Rastakhan? They never once mention him, and outside of ancient allies, they have little reason to care.
Who was only awakened and released because of the incompetence of the Zandalari not ousting their traitors soon enough.
You still saved the life of the only remaining keeper of the Sethrak. I imagine that he would be very greatful for someone saving his life, unless he’s taking a page out of the Nightborne book.
They weren’t void elves when they tried to attack us, they were blood elves (Their whole lore is an @sspul so I won’t even start ranting about them)
Not all the KT’s were trying to kill us, especially considering that we were in their city. It was a small minority of Ashvane’s soldiers and corrupted tide priests.
The other races who attempted to kill us were always the majority of their race. DI Dwarfs, Nightborne, Iron Horde, ect.
We don’t know what they think because Blizzard has not given any spotlight to sethrak since the release of 8.0. Which is just another reason why I doubt they’ll be a playable race.
Meh, they are the same thing. Don’t believe their lies!
Actually, by saying that KT were kinda our enemies, I meant the time from Daelin’s death to now. They left the Alliance and didn’t want anything to do withus.
Were they? Didn’t we just kill some Duskwatch members and a noble here and there? While the rest begged like good little elfies for some mana?
For the same reason vulpera suddenly care about Rastakhan. Cause blizzard intentionally made it to be the case. What connection or hinting did the vulpera have till blizz went ahead and made their leader upset at Rastakhan’s funeral?
I’d argue next to nothing.
But blizz went out of its way to drop the bombshell.
Anyway, the sethrak sell the vulpera as slaves. If the horde gets the vulpera as a non neutral allied race directly under their faction, then the probability of also having the race which enslaved them is kinda low.
So as it looks like right now, the sethrak will be either dumped completely, never to join any race ever cause of some genius at blizzard again, or alternatively both races will be pandaren style neutral races.
If the sethrak are dumped however and horde gets the vulpera while the alliance goes with stick legged gnomes then i can only repeat myself: There will be a blood bath of a backlash for obvious reasons.
You dont pair unique race releases alongside a copy paste handicapped series of already existing races.
Hop onto the wiki for both races. There is the interesting detail for instance that the sethrak use the vulpera as slaves. Even their children.
So if we talk about the notion of sethrak joining the horde, i think the vulpera would be in quite a hissyfit really.
You would say the same about Gilneans who receeded from the Alliance, same for those of Dalaran who later receeded, and so on and so forth.
I couldn’t turn a corner in Suramar without hearing “An illusion, what are you hiding?” Then every NPC being after my blood when the disguise was dropped.
As they do with most things, tactless and without subtlety
Weren’t the elves also raided by the Orcs in the 2nd war?
Weren’t the goblins enslaved by the Zandalari to mine Kaja ore?
There are many questionable relations within the Horde.
Most likely the former as Blizz commented about never doing neutral races again. (For some reason).
Pretty much, sand bandits vs Jimmy Neutron rip offs.
Really? Well then i guess we can brace ourself from some nice home made drama again. If vulpera are not neutral i’d say that most chances lean towards the notion that the development of sethrak was thrown out the window.
Either that, or horde gets both races, cause the alliance story line with sethrakk was obviously discontinued at this point. They are not even remotely mentioned, nowhere, at all.
Best case scenario in my mind (in case they didnt scrap them) is that horde will get both races, but it really seems to me that they did.
The new race in Swtor is gonna be Nautolan, I’d like to have access to some of the aquatic races in WoW, be it Naga (unlikely), Ankoen or Jinyu. Maybe Gilgoblins for the Horde, but those would have more or less the same success as Mechagnomes.
Btw do you think that there is any chance for Ankoen to become AR? I recall that on Twitch they said that there are not many of them…
It’s possible, but they suffer from all the same problems as standard Jinyu alongside the lore issues. They would be the best candidate for the Pandaren allied race, though. Gilgoblins can’t happen so long as Vulpera exist.
Ankoen are gonna be allies to the Alliance and since we are in war and they do not help the Horde a bit, it is a safe bet that they would not be neutral, so I do not see that as a problem, even Jinyu in Jade Forest were on the side of the Alliance, on the other hane there are other tribes which are neutral.
The one problem might be the model itself, although not as big as e.g. Naga.
Gilgoblins might be the answer for Mechagnomes, it is still pretty much open right now. But this duo would interest like maybe 1 % of WoW playerbase, which seems like a waste.
