Agreed, Mechagonians are better looking than those WOTLK ones that don’t look much different.

You can’t really debate something that’s subjective. But if you delved into Mechagnomes, or even just took a close up look at them, they’re hardly similar
Maybe joltt means full suited mechagnomes in HA arent terribly different.
I think what people miss with WoTLK mechagnomes is they are literally robots. They operate on programs as their designation was to care for the Titanic machinery. There is no good reason why they’d go adventuring as they have no spark of gnomanity in them, far less individuality than other titanforged at least. This is precisely why those at the Fizzcrank Airstrip are horrified at being fully mechanised, precisely the same as Erazmins stance. Fully mechanised they literally become slaves to whomever operates them, and the OG mechagnomes are bound to their original Titanic programming.
Like the Forsaken are “free” undead and the mechagnomes are still partially organic, it’s simply not really possible to have a race that has no free will being played as an adventurer.
Re AD I’m not aware of any mechagnome only guilds probably due to numbers, there are a few Gnomish themed ones that take mechagnomes as well: Assemblage of Uld is a guild centered around Gnomes and Dwarves rediscovering titan artifacts and lore to tap into their Titanic heritage. Arclight Association is a Gnomish guild focused on Gnomish interests and innovation, probably more “typically” Gnomish than the Assemblage in the stereotypical sense of tropes etc. There was another that was somewhat active, Gnomish Rescue Squad I think? Gyrocopter pilots principally. I think they’re still existent but not terribly active.
I parsed the concept of a Mechagnome guild myself, well Mechagnome led by allowing other races in, essentially focusing on the “Junk Dealer” angle or the gnomes, a band whom during the war with Mechagon were like Bondo, tech dealers and suppliers whom moved between favouring the Mechagonian band and the Resistance. Thus they would be fairly cutthroat, resourceful gnomes whom upon the war ending and finding themselves in with the alliance, move into general salvage and procurement whilst also operating as experimental weapon dealers. Almost like a criminal guild, but not quite, but certainly a rough around the edges group. Scrapmettle Salvage (spelling intended) would have been the name.

I’m talking about WOTLK Mechagnomes to regular Gnomeregan gnomes. They are literal reskins of Gnomergans.
Mechagonian Mechagnomes look nothing like Gnomeregan gnomes. They have new assets, moving parts etc. The only thing that looks similar is the head.

down to personal opinion, as you say, subjectivity I suppose.
I wouldn’t say “inspiration” per se, but I’ve liked cyborgs ever since good old Cybermage and the Borg from Star Trek. Mechagnomes are cyborgs. Now if we had cyborg varieties of other races, I probably would go for one of those instead I’ll admit, but it wouldn’t diminish the mechagnomes.

Daily fun fact from me, (but still looking forward to Pax’s), Mechagon has its own city rat problem just like organic cities! Except, instead of spreading diseases, they spread software viruses.

Mechagnomes are the only mortal race to have acquired the ability to time travel outside of the bronze flight or those who use magical means facilitated by the bronzes in the first place (like mages porting to Draenor, made possible by the initial linking of the two states by the Bronzes). The perfectly Timed Differential stands as a good example of this technology, as although Chromie sends us there initially, she is not responsible for the blueprints looted there (originally hacked from PASCAL) which suggests that a Mechagnome (quite possibly Pascal) invented the means independently. The fact that PASCAL can craft it in the present day suggests that such tech has already been invented by the Mechagnomes by the time the Alliance and Horde meet them!

Are you referring to my classic character’s appearance? If so, that’s a terrible insult. Laughable. Classic doesn’t have transmog, when I play classic, I play for the game systems, not the transmog. If you are referring to my physical appearance IRL, you have no evidence of such a claim. If you know me IRL, what is my name?

If anyone needs some musical inspiration for some mechagnomes, try this:
I stumbled across it after the soundtrack for Blood Machines was recommended to me yesterday. My mechagnome’s backstory could now potentially feature him “backing up” the personalities of fallen friends and integrating them into his own personal spider tank.
