Min maxers ruin this game

If only ranking was that simple

Oh! But #nochanges right, guys?

It’s not min-maxing the problem but the mentality that is still spreaded by streamers and ā€œguidesā€ than min-maxing have to be the new normal.
Like if you are not spending 10 hours / day solo farming DM:E you don’t deserve an epic mount.
Or if you are not in full pre-raid bis you are leeching MC runs etc.

It’s not.
But i don’t see agreeing on caps as competitive either.

Apparently agrreing on caps is to complicated for horde brain

If it only affected that group it wouldnt have been a problem. Problem comes when it affects the Meta and the developers. To each their own, I dont mind how people prefer to play.

Min/Max for me is beeing efficient, and always having a new challenge and horizon (as in competition with and against myself). Something that doesn’t have to be present all the time.

Unfortunatly for some, its a way of feeling superior, thinking a way of thinking or acting will make them ā€œbetterā€. A pure ego boost…

If not for that, I’d almost recommend (in retrospect) Blizzard to assign some servers as ā€œcasualā€ and others like ā€œhardcoreā€ (or whatever), so that people could play, be amongst and enjoy a Meta created by like minded.

But knowing how people are, they would rollen on these servers to make themselfs feel good. Kinda like killing grey players… Self reflection is often abscent in Azeroth ^^

They already changed alot lol, just in wrong places

Strongly agree, they are ruining this game, playing in a competitive way in a 15 years old game lul

Imagine only playing wow vanilla on pserv for the last decade.

At this point i’m not trolling when i say that the 1day stress test server experience was better than classic experience

While i acknowledge you’ve taken over from spelbatching as the biggest troll on this forum I’d just like to actually answer that point

While I agree stacking brackets is a good idea in theory (grind less, get more), what people fail to grasp is there will only be 0.2% of the pvp population able to hit rank 14… so on a server of 5k per faction that’s basically 10 rank 14 people at a time… stacking brackets with premades where there are hundreds competing for a 40man AV slot meaning most of those players are going to be left out in the cold when the final push to rank 12+ comes on

what happened in P-servers was people agreed to stack brackets, when they got to a certain rank or so people went off and ground the ever loving life out of pvp behind everyone’s back one week so they got the head start into the rank 13 grind and left everyone else behind them in the dust…

I reckon there’s probably a few people who CBA with stacking after that as they don’t trust people and are more at home with just ensuring that they don’t get left behind this time. I mean when all your glorious premades realise they can’t all hit rank 14 at the same there is going to be absolute mutiny in the ranks. Back in vanilla people were grinding WSG with the 9 other people they were stacking brackets with… not the 4K-5k some of these mega servers hold.

Min-maxers don’t ruin the game IMO… Fair play to them, they’re playing how they want and doing well. The process of getting the ā€œmostā€ out of their character/gear for PvP or PvE is what they enjoy - and there’s nothing to really criticise in that respect.

That is, unless they also decide to complain about ā€œboomersā€ and people who aren’t playing the game exactly like they are, at which point it just becomes toxic.

I think its all about ego of players, about their mood and mostly about persona.
Its well known fact that internet space … well its ,the night is long and full of terror , .

You can mock, terrorize, trashtalk etc. you can be even a dog and noone knows.

And when you add ladders and championships and some kind of competition, some people just loose their calm when things do not go as they want.

You can min max, just dont be **** about it.

On retail, there are few very hardcore guilds like Method, for a lot of casuals players, and few minmaxers in it obviously.

The problem on classic is that minmaxing is now the way to play, and this create toxicity in community, i’ve seen many gnomes mage insulting ppl for playing humans mage, this kind of sh*t, just for 5% intelligence buff and some cool racial for pvp

Youve clearly never ranked or experienced ranking on classsic or pservers, pls stop spreading lies.

I did both, vanilla huntard to rank 11 on defias brotherhood before I said F-this because I wanted to go out drinking at the weekends (I was in college at the time) and honestly I only got to rank 8 or 9 on p-servers because I didn’t have the time investment as I was working. I did how ever have guild members ranting the ever loving F -out of it when people broke the honor cap agreement in both. And be in mind I was also the person who warned this forum about horde ganking in the capital cities in between their hour long BG ques… so clearly I have experiences from both vanilla and p-server

You wife should have dumped you for being a human priest if she is a minmaxer for real.

minmaxing makes sense on current Heroic content progression. It makes ZERO sense in this Raid Finder difficulty zerg rush farm game.

Imagine wasting months for rank14 weapon so u can kill boss some pleb can kill with blue from dungeons but maybe few sec faster

Yes, The stress tests were better. I’ve said so a couple of times. And wondered why. I thought stealth nerfs between then and Classic maybe did it. But maybe we, the players are to blame. Sad if it’s true.

I hate to be that guy, but like … 80-90% of the classic community are minmaxers, thats where most of the toxicity comes from, if they werent there classic would die within a very short time im afraid
