Ok then as i said, congratz on stretching the definition to high heavens.
I don’t wanna get in a circular argument, so i will just drop it cause it’s pointless anyway.

Why so many bait threads lately

Hell a 30 minute single questline is somehow comparanle to a legendary cloak spanning over 2 to 3 months just to be able to apply to a guild. Lol.

You were the one that tried to stretch it in the first place talking about how there’s so many more ‘mandatory’ stuff onwards from Cata - but in Cata there were some incredibly strong PvE trinkets that you basically had to have and then there were rogues with the leggo daggers vs other rogues without for PvP. For PvE it was a lot of the same but the reason it’s gotten worse as time goes on is more a result of the playerbase and what is now considered to be ‘base level’ or ‘average’ is of a higher level than it used to be. See Classic WoW and people requiring far more gear for content than they would’ve in the original game and you needing better gear for even Battlegrounds to not get stomped.

Min-max culture is to blame for people feeling ‘forced’ into grinding all sorts of stuff that not neccesarily mandatory in order to ‘keep up’ or ‘outprogress’ the base curve.

I did not even talk about Cata, wtf.
No offense, have no interest in dropping a conversation and engage in another, even less with you tbh.

I couldn’t disagree more. You’re entitled to your own opinions, even if you’re delusional.

You’re right you’ve just pointlessly crap talked every expansion and how it’s all bad without giving praise to a single one but continually cite all these different expansions as having too many bad systems that were “Mandatory” when they were in fact not mandatory and you tried to insist that Garrisons were not mandatory in the first place.

Plus I know I’m scary, lot of people don’t like to lose internet debates or admit lost ground for whatever reason.

Literally every expansion, by your logic via the ‘leggo cloak’ had mandatory stuff. Classic? Hand of Sargeras, Thunderfury, Ateish… TBC? Glaives, Thoridal… WoTLK? Shadowmourne… Cata? Fangs of the Father, etc…

It’s just funny because you started playing in 2015 anyways. After MoP and anything else so how could you even know?

It’s not even true lol, no one even bought the reputation gear because it sucked when you had the rep to get it. Raid gear could be upgraded with valor too, almost like OP is just pulling things out of his äss to get a reaction out of people.

I can’t help but feel like you’re severely overestimating the amount of people who hated MoP because of panda’s and asian themes
Is it chance that you’re not mentioning the removal of the old talent tree and the replacement of it with the one we currently have?

This topic gets my golden seal of approval.

It was the expansion that forever killed WOW.

Those who says it is the best are only 0.1% of the people that left the game because of MOP.

I puke a lot.

MoP compared to the trainwreck that came after it and the hashed out mess that came before had:

  • No cut content.
  • The best patch cycle (scuppered only by WoD development hell extending SoO).
  • The best content balance in any expansion (literally things for all players to do, progression for all styles of gameplay)
  • Streamlining the absolutely bonkers 71 talent point system we had in WoTLK which was then further turned into an eldritch monster in Cata.
  • Class balance was arguably at its best and fun.
  • New class AND new race, something we’ve never had since.
  • A continent that felt like an actual new and unexplored land, not a doomsday simulator themepark world like Cata, or SAVAGE WORLD themepark that WoD brought.
  • Pet battles

Good, tbh. Amuses me to no end seeing arguments from people that border the anal retentive over the “lol kung fu panda bad” and “uggggh its asian ugggggh” non-arguments that get posted.
MoP was the last expansion that actually felt like a WoW expansion, if you want to start the “the game got bad” please proceed to look at the calamitous mess Cataclysm was.

It gets glossed over because “hehe world was reworked! xd” yeah into a static, bland mess that’s even worse than anything the world was pre-cata.

That wasn’t even an option till the last patch.
It’s clear who actually played MoP here

Say what you want, Mists Of Pandaria was the golden age of WoW and my favourite expansion ever. Everything I can imagine was at it’s peak in MoP, and no statistics can change that for me.

When did you start to play?

This.

I’ve come to think MOP is probably the best all-round expansion. Wrath had better lore / story, TBC had better community and Vanillia had better fresh experiences but MOP did a good job on most things.
Legion had some great aspects but they papered over massive cracks with tons of Fan-Service lore characters, weapons and threw content at us so fast we couldn’t really see how the systems were so downright bad for the game.

Interesting, I just found the thread with the worst take possible, Pandaria was the last good expansion the game had.

mop was last good expansion indeed
legion is basically diablo 3 ripoff which was a bad game and deserves /spit on a grave
no idea why it was so overrated but it’s the reason the game is in such a sad state right now, because they just keep copying legion basics every patch with some dumb changes

MoP was after WotLK the greatest expansion this game has ever had and no matter how hard you’re trying to show the flaws and problems the expansion had, it’ll stay the second best expansion.

Because Illidan, Demon Hunters, Gul Dan, Ashbringer, Doomhammer, Argus, Revamped Dalaran, Kil Jaeden, Demon Hunters and Illidan.
They could have done almost anything with this Fan-Service and we would have lapped it up…
