Do you think blizzard care? They earn more money.
How would I know? I only collect information from what people observe. But they are not āhumansā, because they behave like bots 99% of the time. I imagine it might be a situation similiar to what is envisioned with automatic cars. One person getting āalertedā when a certain event occurs. They can then make the choice to intervene and/or solve the situation or ignore it. For example, getting alerted when there is a whisper. That is where the lines can potentially blur with multiboxing.
Eriner, you are already an outlier already then.
Semantics issue #5:
Multiboxers provide Blizzard with a significant amount of extra income, and that, and only that, is the reason why is it currently allowed. True/false?
Patently false. All accounts should be allowed to be played as they see fit provided that theyāre playing within our policies. In cases of mulitboxing, all accounts involved are playing the same as any other account, only simultaneously.

Im sorry mate, but if you found it difficult to lvl your 5 man squad, its just that you dont know what you are doing. The single fastest way to level any character that is not a mage, is to level a mage on a very low pop server and then use that mage to boost the toon you want to level up. Lvling a mage to 60 on a low pop server can litteraly be done in 3 days /played. Boosting requires virtualy no gear and it takes around 2-3 days to reach 60 if you are getting boosted. Realisticly you could get a 5 man squad to high lvl 50s in around just 5 days /played total if you played correctly. Collection quests are beyond irrelevent. Boohoo, lvling 1-10 might be slightly more time consuming for a multiboxer. But beyond that multiboxers legitematly have an easier leveling experience over people that dont multibox
Blizzards policies are made in a way they can generate more money, even if it means sacrifing game integrityā¦ who would have thought?
true, but the 1 multiboxer is 1 player, not 5 players, you have to organize 5 players by grouping up with them, multiboxers? they can just insta invite their whole team and make sure very few people can actually deal with them without organizing a whole squad to deal with it, essentially 1 player becomes a 5 man challenge.
multiboxing and PvP are anathema to one another and I would not be opposed to blizzard fully breaking the follow function for PvP combat outside of BGs
IMO breaking multiboxing on a PvP server is not going to stop multiboxers camping lotus spawns as most multiboxers only use them as a camera to check the spawns, the only thing blizz can do to prevent that is to either change the lotus spawn mechanic (plenty of pservers went for this approach to ensure the guy actually herbing in a zone has the highest chance of finding the lotus) OR prevent players from logging in to more than 1 wow classic account at a time.
IMO the former is a much healthier solution as plenty of top end players multibox to some extend to play the AH while out in the world or reset dungeons without having to run out of the dungeon.
however breaking the follow function would not change the lotus lockdown situation, most of the multiboxers do not require follow function to work in order to move their camera in position to check for lotus spawns. Blizz simply needs to change the spawn mechanics for these nodes on overpopād server to allow for more dynamic and variable spawn times to accommodate the increase in raid demand.
on PvE servers where I see people report abusing dual boxers that are trying to farm their frostmaul eko raid consumables because people have giant gaping holes in their head these days? I donāt think a dude with like 2-3 accounts is going to be locking off your lotus spawns folks, maybe stop threatening report abuse from whole guilds unless you really want false positives and people leaving the game for genuinely less toxic pservers where at least the devs care about the state of the game, and do things like either ban multiboxing or change lotus spawn mechanics.
Honestly I reckon those strat groups are actual multibox groups not bots, more than likely manned by people in a call Centre type situation somewhere, with a different person behind the keys at different times.
Iāve tracked them leaving the instance myself, Iāve tried to engage them to wipe them, the actively avoid me and ran around me. They donāt just path straight through mobs and people like bots do. They actually try to avoid āliveā situations. If you told me they donāt speak English I would also have to suspect the same.
As someone who has boxed strat a lot, I can tell you Botting it would not be easy. I mean there are patrols and those really annoying shade things that spawn mobs if you donāt kill them, and more than often thatās enough to wipe a box, I imagine a bot would fast get out of sync with the rest of his group. And that would just end up in more wipes again.
Most likely is literally mass account sharing in āsomeā gold farm somewhere.
āmateā, Iām not levling on a low-pop server, Iām leveling on a full-pop server and, please, stop attributing YOUR behavior onto other players! Not everyone plays this game for full efficiency. I already have to be quite precise and efficient in my daily job so I prefer to go a bit slower (nowadays) in WoW.
Again, Iām not multi-boxing to turn the economy upside down nor do I abuse certain āmalfunctionsā of the game to solo-farm instances (run-pattern in DM east solo runs i.e.), even though I could. Just look at some of the multi-boxer videos on youtube and you might find out why some players multi-box. Some have social-anxiety issues, some just donāt want to or simply donāt have the time to wait for hours on a tank or a heal, yet others just want to farm gear for their main-character and simply donāt want to burden other players to help them farm these items over and over again and, as in my case, Iām simply interested in the technology behind the whole thing.
It is with everything in life, some people will always abuse certain situations. Itās like the NRA states, guns (multi-boxing) are not the problem per se, its the people using these guns (multi-boxing software) that to do evil things. Sure, from a European standpoint you start questioning why guns are allowed in first place as this tackles the social problem from an other angle, though instead of guns they might use knifes or other kind of weapons to harm others.
So, please, stop accusing other people and project YOUR mindset onto other players. You just assume every player, especially multi-boxers, always plays to full efficiency, which is often not the case. It might hold true for you and you seemed to be annoyed that others have āstolenā your candy and now everyone but you is a bad guy, though you arenāt right just because you screamed the loudest.
ban guns, ban multiboxing. simple.
Then please also ban people who farm instances solo, power-level alts through dungeons or that sit all day in front of the auction house and earn thousands of gold as they probably do not play the game as it was meant to be played initially.
[irony:on]And if we are already at banning people, then please also ban everyone who does have more time to play than I do as they for sure have an advantage over me and also ban people that donāt /cheer and /bow to me when I pass them as they surely donāt show the respect they need to ā¦ [irony:off]
they arenāt cheating. Are you rly trying to justfiy p2w system in classic? if so, are you for blizzard implementing tokens in classic to? Tokens and multiboxing is pretty much exactly the same result, in some cases, multiboxing is worse.
So arenāt multi-boxers! Please tell me how they cheat? Which game mechanic do they break in order to play multiple characters at the same time? Why arenāt you calling out solo-dungeon farmers, especially the ones in DM east or north, which resolves around moving in a position to force the boss to run back and forth constantly and therefore not being able to perform its attacks, which is clearly not an intended behavior and thus an abuse of flaws in certain game mechanics. This is closer to cheating than to repeat input commands and send them to multiple clients. Multi-boxing can also be done without any software-support just by either using hardware support, such a signal repeater, or by splitting the input signal and feeding it into multiple computers at once. So technically completely legal, regardless of your admiration or not.
Do you even know what p2w even means? Just play SW:TOR and you might see what a true p2w MMO is (or one of these Asian grinder MMOs that ship with a fully fledged ingame store that allows you to buy boosters and materials or currency to buy them ingame), when you have to pay just to unlock a further action bar or when you want to run a further dungeon. Also, what does winning in an MMO that has no real end or finish mean? You might āpwnā other players, so what, just look at Twitch or Youtube and you will see that multi-boxers have to corpse run just as often as other players have to, so [irony:on] completely overpower, of course [iriony:off]. Can it be used to farm gold more effectively? Sure, but so can a solo-farmer in an instance already. Seeing mages that pull half the instance and cc and aoe them down making couple hundreds of gold per hour is just as flawed, IMO.
Am I in favor of the upcoming token system? I donāt mind it, honestly, though I wonāt use it as I have not that much gold available and besides that money isnāt an issue for me, actually. I know a lot of people who spend plenty more at weekends out partying than I do spend for my 5 accounts.
Also, as mentioned throughout my other posts, which you obviously seem to completely ignore, a tool by itself is neither good nor bad. Depending on the context it is used it acquires a form of validity. A car can be used for good things such as delivering people and goods from one place to an other while it can also be used to harm people, like in a couple countries in recent years where some people intentionally used their car to hit other people and kill/harm them. So, is a car therefore a bad thing and needs to be banned from all over the world?
If at all, Blizzard needs to define how people are considered to behave when dual-boxing, this regulatory though needs to apply for every gamer, not only multi-boxers. This would be similar to implementing stricter weapon laws or define a road traffic act which states how traffic participants need to behave and what is considered legal and what illegal.
Donāt waste your time, myself and several others have already explained it to him, heās just pulling the āI donāt want to listen so Iām going to ignore everything and claim to be rightā heās like a pigeon playing chess, struts around the board like he owns it, craps everywhere then flys off thinking it won.
Iāve had the same mindset difference conversation several times since classic launched. People who multibox tend to operate on different goals than a solo player and solo players who complain tend to think everyone operates like them. So they apply the well this is what I would do, so therefore that is what it must be. Without realizing either the mechanics/limitations of boxing. A lot of Solo players are all about the endgame and leveling is just a borring thing to be skipped where possible where as boxers tend to try and enjoy leveling because there is no āendgameā as an M-box. You canāt pvpā¦ and you can maybe get 1-2 people into a raid before people throw a wobbly
Just my advice. Donāt feed the troll.
You keep on being a p2w whale
