they want to play rpg game - not some wierd bastard child of sonic the headhog and bullet shooter games.
each year due to design of mechanics become more and more stupid people are just fed up with retail.
there is a reason why huge crowd of wow players desire easier simpler times - thus huge popularity of easy versions of game like season of dicovery , classic hardcore and wolk classic.
retail is just to fast and to complicated for playerbase which grows older and older each year.
and more and more people just signs out .
i play current season . but tbh i have much more fun doing ICC on my hunter and gearing up my druid atm in wolk classic then i have playing retail.
when cata comes i will spend majority my time there- same when MoP comes.
maybe im just getting to old for retail - and its ok.
i rather do stuff that is fun for me in game then stuff that is not.
Probably unpopular opinion; Murozond’s Rise is a good dungeon boss wise.
And the reasoning behind it is that its finally a dungeon with some mechanics that does actually do something except pulse group wide aoe damage constantly to the healers demise. Sure, some of the bosses are less challenging (Morchie / battlefield), but Tyr and Deios both have some fun and semi challenging mechanics that will have a significant impact if not done correctly.
Murozond’s Rise is the gateway drug to raiding, where you actually have to be semi awake and pay attention to mechanics. Sure the gauntlet can be annoying, but for example paladin bubble can just ignore the whole thing, rogues and demon hunters also have utilities in their kit to deal with it. I am sure there are others as well, but can’t be bothered right now to check.
The only downside to the dungeon in my opinion is the feeling of no trash between bosses (barely any trash killing between Morchie, battlefield and Deios). But its 99% guaranteed that you have killed more than enough trash for M+ long before you reach Deios, as the battlefield gives so much %, as well as clearing the ground to the portals.
Even on +20 or higher M+ keys, you shouldn’t be struggling with time unless the dps is low, you wiped or just don’t know what to do or where to go.
And like many have said, if its too complicated and fast paced; go play classic and take it slow?
Exactly, and the worst thing about it is that it chases newcomers away as well. People are getting tired of M+ and overcomplicated Raids and that’s a fact.
Amen, I actually explore the DF zones, I also do some questing, doing wPvP and other fun activities in general. Blizz should focus on these parts of the game IMO.
DF haa taken steps towards the right direction that’s for sure. All the aforementioned aspects of the game are better than they were during the past 3-4 expansions. But still, more work is required. They should flesh out the open world, wPvP and RP experience. Especially the RP one. The RP community is the most passionate one WoW has, they should try their best to keep them instead of neglecting them…
It’s not the mechanics becoming more and more stupid. I can see it already about myself, and I think I’m under the average age for this game (pure speculating based on the guilds I’ve been in during the 6 years I’ve been playing retail). We have old dungeons, where I didn’t use to fail, and now I’m doing. It’s just my reflexes becoming slower, but not the game becoming harder.
When it comes to WoW, I grew as a player with mythic plus, as I started in Legion. But I’ve played Wotlk on private previous to this, and before 10.2 I boosted a character to 80. For players that try to find a challenge, wotlk is not fun. Is just boring. On the other hand, retail has challenge in it.
And it’s just strange cause this season is the easiest one since the invention of m+. And people are still complaining about the difficulty. And we are talking about people with way more experience in wow than me. It has nothing to do with the mechanics, but it’s something about people not really being able to achieve the end content, and getting the max rewards. Which is fine: Max rewards always had a skill requirement for it. The fact that in wotlk the leveling was the hard part, and the raids and dungeons were easy as hell, and now leveling is easy and the content for max rewards actually is a bit challenging (even If I don’t agree making it as easy as it is this season) it’s not people being fed up with mechanics: Is people that don’t want to accept that they are not able to beat the game anymore with little to no challenge.
you literally made a statement saying “no feelings” and all im reading is feelings, their are countless things blizzard can do to improve dungeons “removing” RP is one of them but that doesn’t stop you from timing a key playing poorly does.
you can make that statement once you time a +28 rise which will be the world 1st rise key . apart from that your words of playing poorly means nothing .
and even if you do manage to do that which is fair to say impossible for someone like you , it still does not explain why should there be RPS and mazes and Ukeleles and story telling little dragons and kid toys in a middle of an m+ run wasting the competition time for nothing but a bunch of visuals and flying around because oh God almighty the guy who designed that zone with the time clocks put on a show and he deserves an audience …
I’m switvhing bewteen the two. Atm I’m raidlogging wrath classic and playing retail a lot, but I’m very close to reaching my goal, which is getting 2.5k rating (done), clearing all on heroic (almost done) and getting ilvl 475+ (close). After that I’m gonna treat retail with a much more casual eye, i.e. doing a weekly 20, a bit of alts and mount collecting here and there.
I haven’t even touched SoD because I just can’t bear the thought of leveling up slowly again, especially when there’s presumably nothing new at max lvl. I might when the xp boosts are ou, but ideally I’d want to return to TBC.
They dont waste completion time. These things are factored into the completion time.
If you failed the timer its because you either reached your limit or, if you are the best player in the world, reached THE limit.
see thats your problem , they are not factored in . you only think they are because you are either an extremely biased person towards blizzard or you lack complete knowledge of how to read Raider io data and dungeon complition across various levels .
my money is on the first option as 99% of ppl who run around in forums are generally extremely biased towards blizzard and will try to be positive towards every post regardless of the thread having a a reliable discussion or not .
the fact that they added 1 minute into the keystone just screammmmmmmmmms how clueless they are in terms of calculating time splippage for that none sense , which btw isnt the first time they completly blow it up and the community just ends up laughing at them . but hey what do i know you seem to have a better understanding than me
maybe i just reached my limit . Or MAYBE THEY SUCK ! and need to be better at designing , its not to say they cant , they can for sure RLP was a great dungeon and didnt have any dumb flying rp around
Nobody complains about a jump off a waterfall here or there, and a boss that first tells you how he is going to drown us all like rats. To be honest, i always liked Skovald in the Halls of Valor This dungeon has a bit too much of portal/flying/maze/rp play.
