Some realms are in such a bad state i really feel for the people on them 
AD has never had the same kind of population as a full non RP realm so it’s probably more noticeable if there are less players due to it’s lack of cross realm.
AD has always been absolutely huge.
I think at this point it’s one of the largest Alliance servers.
Outland is also dead.
It’s only ‘huge’ for an RP realm. Compared to regular realms it’s a fraction of the size.
Bit of a weird take. It’s not some epic saga, it’s 16 years old. ‘Finally’ makes it sound far older than it is. The soundtrack isn’t bad. Bastion is a bit ‘meh’, Ardenweald is powerful in its way, not power metal, but still has some real Oomph to it. Maldraxxus actually grew on me, the Soundtrack is actually one of the better elements to it, it is the soundtrack of unremitting war, even if the zone itself is a bit ‘generic undead’ and Revendreth is like Gilneas took some mood suppressing drugs to make it somehow gloomier, which is kind of…yeah, how you’d imagine it.
It isn’t though? It isn’t retconning existing lore. I mean I don’t necessarily like all the aspects of it, but they are all expanded lore, not re-writing old lore, so not ret-cons, unless you can think of any examples, in which case I will re-visit my opinion on the matter.

For a start using ‘woke’ as a pejorative is kind of an alarm bell going “I am OK with racism” to the mind of anyone who knows what the term originally means, but also what is this “Inserting Ideology” business? As if that hasn’t been a thing since WoW started, or do you mean “They’re putting in ideology that I don’t like!” into it.

I mean if you’re very fragile in your sexuality and think being a male is all about roaring and growling and beating your chest in a manly fashion whilst looking like someone who got kicked out of a BDSM club for ‘manly men’ for looking “Too Camp” then maybe.
I’m trying to think of any of the racial leaders who are weak. I mean Turalyon is gnarly as hell, Malfurion is just rubbish cat-pigeon-stag-beard-elf-bear thing, so is hardly a character at all, Anduin was just a teenage king thrust into power too young, now a cheap Arthas rip off, Genn Greymane is a bitter old Alcoholic with anger management issues, and there is nothing more manly than that! Yaay! (I’m joking) Gelbin Mekkatorque is a strangely psychotic analytical genius, who is basically Tony Stark but 3 feet tall. Velen is an ancient stoner, he’s figuratively ‘The Dude’ from The Big Liebowski, Prince Erazmin is like a -more- charismatic Che Guevarra,
And then the Horde…
Thrall is a dude, he wants to live a life with his wife and kid, but war keeps calling him back, sorry, what is weak about that? Thats like the plot of a lot of action films with manly men in them. Rokhan seems to just be a dude, living his life, nothing weak about him, he’s a Shadow Hunter, they don’t give you that kind of status because they like the colour of your eyes, Baine, yeah, he’s a bit of a quiet man, but I think he suffered because of Christie Golden’s writing. Lets not forget some of his original dialogue which never made it into the end game, where he kicked open the Great Gates between Mulgore and the Barrens, squared up to the Alliance and bellowed “It took a coward, with a traitor’s poison to kill my father, what makes -you- think you have any chance against me!” before making a ‘bring it’ gesture to the Alliance soldiers there.
Gazlowe? Nothing weak about him, strikes me as one of the smartest people on the planet. Lor’themar Theron? The only man(elf) to have told Garrosh, Jaina and Sylvanas to BTFO to their faces? Yeah, not buying that. Having a girlfriend does not make you weak…
So yes, we all know Christie Golden has favourites, she has admitted such, but that doesn’t mean that male characters are written out, or being written as weak.
Outland is one of the biggest Alliance realms and it’s way smaller than AD.
However… both of those servers together are like 1/6th the size of Tarren Mill Horde alone.
So in a way you’re right, but…
This game’s absolutely f’d. Like, seriously.
It’s a third of the size of the busiest Ally realm like Silvermoon.
Outland is even smaller than AD.
Njeaah, about 2.5x actually.
Silvermoon’s still 1/3rd the size of Tarren Mill though.
I disagree but there is no reliable site for stats any more.
AD has just under 7k characters and Silvermoon has over three times that.
Silvermoon and Draenor are both full realms.
TM is a connected realm, realms are connected because they don’t have high enough pop.
So Silvermoon is the alliance server and tarren mill / kazzak / draenor / ragnaros the horde server to aim for right?
nope, during covid Wow lost more than 45% of it’s current players lol.
Blizzard lives in its bubble of arrogance thinking that people will be playing their game no matter what and eventually they push people to the limit and everything will crash down.

We don’t know the exact amount of players, but we do know the exact amount of achievements, that is how many people raid, PvP, and M+ competently, and let me assure you that Tarren Mill is FAR bigger than Silvermoon and Draenor, connected or not.
Tarren Mill is the home of Echo (aka old Method), Security, Nameless, and Myst to name a few. Obviously these massive guilds attracted massive amounts of players - good ones, too.
Tarren Mill is not small.
So you only measure those with an ‘ePeen’. I find that pretty worthless myself. I’m more interested in actual populations.
I’m well aware of what RWF guilds are on what realms. I don’t live under a rock 
Draenor was so busy with the launch of 9.0 that people had to be offered free transfers. It wasn’t the only actually busy realm in that situation.
