The complaints are summed up as “oh no, the average player won’t be able to get the best gear in the game anymore with no effort”. If the vast majority of players can’t do mythic raiding they shouldn’t be able to do a +20 either.
Yes?
In Classic / Classic TBC and Wrath Classic a lazy person with the brain of the donkey can get the best gear in the game and because of this, the games are performing much better than retail WoW.
It´s just a fact.
It´s fine if you want to play a unsuccessful game with barely any content that will slowly die because it panders to the top 5 % of players. It´s your prerogative to have that opinion. No one should pretend though, that it is good for the game´s health. Because WoW retail is being owned by Classic so hard it isn´t even funny. The numbers speak for themselves.
The changes are good.
M+ was too O.P before. At least now it is harder to get to the same level of reward.
Powerful rewards should come more easily from Raiding.
Nobody ever said you ‘have to’ +20
Some people like myself might reach their skill limit and should Raid instead
And I accept that
Yes we all want a return to the donkey brain lazy system of wow…/s
My terrible self with 300 ms latency to OCE managed to get KSM in BfA. I didn’t try in SL, but the keys were pretty easy there too.
I’m glad to see that there’ll be a reason to go higher than 15, but I have a feeling there’ll be a LOT of whining.
I dont see wow retail failling tbh? Where does it fail on wich facts is this based on? If you are talking about m+ the timer no thats just a number you dont need to complete it intime to get the reward, if they said you need to TIME the key to get the rewards yes then its made for esports but it isnt. If you say its failling because they lost alot of players nah its normal tbh, people these days are becoming snowflakes and they want to have everything for free its like dragonflight now when blizzard said for the max reward in df for m+ you need to do a +20 key its not hard to do tbh because you DONT NEED TO TIME IT to get the reward in vault wich is the same as mid boss raid mythic ilvl gear
In which case the challenge is getting a key in the first place…
well yes ofc i knew you where smart.
Said it before, saying it again; Remove M+ as a (the) source of gear and turn it into a challenge mode.
I personally dislike whole mythic+ structure. Idea of getting better and better gear, but locking that that behind weekly lockouts is just artificial prolonged lifetime for the content. Its simply not fun.
Even if there is no m+ system, imagine running same 8 dungeons on heroic mode once a week for a 6 months straigth. Its no different in m+. Its just more time consuming when enemies get more hitpoints and hit harder.
And whats the reward for you from this? You might or might not get the item which you were after. And after few WEEKS of running that dungeon once per week, you still continue run it next week, trying to get one level higher key and chasing same item which got last week and which has +3haste, +4crit more. Truly joyful experience.
And when you get that, you repeat the loop again.
It is not fun.
Same for Raids tho.
Also weekly lockout
M+ was always a disaster as far as some of us are concerned.
So where does the gear come from if not Mythic+?
The problem with M+ giving gear is that it’s farmable. Massively farmable. And when you can get mythic quality gear from something that’s farmable easily, it invalidates three whole difficulty levels of raiding.
This leads to no skill people trying to do mythic raids to round out their trinkets and weapons or whatever has the best stats for them, and failing miserably because they can’t do mechanics(once the pugs start, anyway).
Mythic raid gear doesn’t have the opposite problem oddly enough. Most mythic raiders do keys anyway.
I’m of the mindset that M+ gear needs to have some sort of drop off to it, but how to handle the flood of gear vs the desire to do them is beyond me right now.
I’ve always had a problem with people being able to completely skip normal and heroic raiding just by doing five mans.
But what about the people that dont want to or, cant do raids for whatever reason. how do they get gear?
At the same frequency raiders do somehow.
Raiders are often lucky to get a single piece a week’s lockout.
M+ players can farm a full set in that week if they so choose to, just by the infinite rerunability of keys.
So maybe no matter how many dungeons someone does they get to pick one reward per week from a vault or something?
Farmable on a weekly lockout.
The farmable gear is on a lower ilvl than heroic raid loot.
A full set of just below heroic raid ilvl.
And should it be different?
I only responded on someone who said you can farm a full set of mythic raid ilvl loot in 1 week in M+, while the raid has a lockout. And that is completely nonsense. Even valor upgraded items do not get up to mythic raid loot. And valor is very capped. It takes a month of farming to get 1 weapon upgraded, just below mythic raid ilvl.
Depending on the vault, it takes as fastest 4 months to get fully mythic ilvl raid geared. This depends on getting every week a good item. And we all know the amount of topics here about weekly dissapointments. I myself never got a char full mythic raid geared. There is always a slot or 2 missing. Even not in long seasons like BFA s4 or SL 1 and 2.
