I don’t see what’s wrong with halal, can i rename myself to halal? If i get flagged again will i get a bigger punishment?

If your name was reported and you chose to ignore that and select the same name you’ll likely face bigger punishments next time, yes.
Checked the word, but don’t see how it is offensive. That aside it’s an english realm.
In my country halál means death, so i thought it would be a nice name for a lock, however halál was already taken, therefore i took halal. It didn’t meant to be racist or anything i didn’t knew about it. I should forget about renaming myself to halal again right?

It’s an English word with a religious meaning. In the UK alone there are almost 3 million Muslims. Maybe I wouldn’t consider it offensive but certainly controversial.
I don’t see why your name would be flagged to be honest. People nowadays…

I don’t think that you have a say in that matter. Players will continue to report your name and you’ll be flagged for rename again. If you insist on keeping that name, I suggest to reach technical support and ask them about it. May be they can flag your character as immune to name reports or something like this. Otherwise I wouldn’t risk keeping that name.

Yeah I think you should find a different name. Call it an unfortunate coincidence: consider for example the Spanish word for the color “black”, which is offensive in English, so when playing in an English realm it should be avoided as well.

Most likely some peta-fan took offense on halal-term.
At least here most who raised voice about halal-food in market were peta-fanperson(can’t say boy because I don’t have a clue what they are) complaining it is animal cruelty in their mind.
I can’t figure why muslims would take offense on that, it is like seeing someone with name written as holy/pure (as far as my understanding of translation) name.
And at least I can’t see problem on that, I am actually somewhat mix of surprised and joy when I see some of my native pagan god/religious terms as names.
Which on game that has active skinning and meat cooking is quite funny but mostly those certain people take offense on everything.

I live in England, so it’s written on the side of every second shop along my street. Don’t mind it personally, but yeah, some people are really touchy unfortunately.

For those that are saying that it is offensive to muslims I think that you are currently barking up the wrong tree. It isn’t as common in Europe as it is in Australia and the US but there is a massive right wing movement against anything that even mentions the word halal as they think it is the tip of the iceberg and that if they don’t stamp out halal food the next step will be full sharia law.
As conspiracy theories go they almost rival some of the ones posted on here daily.
I would say it’s more non Muslims who are against the cruelty of halal but I have no idea. I don’t really want to open that can of worms.
Regardless of who reported it for whatever reason, they upheld the complaint and have awarded a rename.

Then you’re blind. It carries religious connotations, which is a stick of dynamite to say the least, and I don’t believe for a second you didn’t know exactly what you were doing when you made it.
