New account restrictions must be removed in anniversary classic

A lot of them, really, but all of them started playing WoW at different expansions/stages of the game, so they don’t have those limitations

And even that is besides the point, could even be a way to redirect because it’s not convenient to think about any other reasons why people want this restriction removed

Disagree, keep it in place. Bots are an infestation and they must be purged. This means collateral damage is necessary

If it worked well enough to justify its downsides, there would be a conversation to be had, but it doesn’t. Gold is still easy to come by if you want it and bots infest every major raw farm you can think of even with this being in place for months now.

At this point, it’s punishing legitimate players much more often.

Wow, so the game should be gatekept and any new player discouraged from ever continuing to play this game. Yeah that is a really good solution.

As was already mentioned. They bought the game time and they got a LOT less value compared to other players for the same MONEY.

This is SCAM from Blizzard. They did not get any warning that it is gonna be **** experience.

Especially Classic without AH and Trading is worthless.

This collateral damage also excludes people from sending stuff to their OWN characters on the account. Think of your character as being SSF but you got no bank alts, FOR 26 DAYS, I always make a bank alt day 1 because I need to store stuff, and they want us to store it on our main character for a month.

This only gets worse when you realize you need mining for your engineering, and as a rogue I can’t get swiftthistle for thistle tea or fade leaf for blind because I can’t have herbalism too, and that’s just a tiny example. You’re basically just royally screwed for a month.

Not only that, you gotta level for 26 days, which probably means level 60+few dungeons, and you can’t have a bank alt(I usually have like 2-3 at 60). You’re completely self found with no storage, this doesn’t even affect me that much because poe2 soon but this is gonna deter people away, it’s a bad player experience.

I’m sure the normal players are going to love it when all these affected people try to join runs with no consumes and no enchants because they literally cannot reliably acquire them.

You can get bags off a bag vendor. I think there’s one in each of the big cities.

6 slot cost 5 silver, 8 slot for 25 silver. Many general goods vendors have these. There are bigger bags too, from the bag vendors, but I can’t remember the price on them.

I wish there was another way we could be somewhat protected from botting accounts an the likes. I know it’s frustrating whit these limitations. But if this can prevent the whole economy going bonkers…

mages can´t give food or drinks to healers in dungeons even :man_facepalming: :person_facepalming: :woman_facepalming:

SO THE GUY wants exp boosts for everyone but being able to trade minor health pots and magic essence is too much of a leap. yeah ok buddy.

it changes literally nothing. bots aren’t using new accounts because they don’t get banned in the first place, they run amock for 8 months with no consequence and then funnel gold to burner accounts that have existed since 2012. it’s all bread and circus. the only way to combat bots is by having gms ingame watching.

That costs way too much money, why do that when we can just ruin the game for new players?

Could be you’re right. I’ve never bought gold anywhere. Not from sellers, and no token off the AH. Nor have I’ve been temped to bot or multibox using hardware playing several accounts. I have spotted one or more of the kind.

But burner accounts existing for 12 years? Makes me wonder what defines a burner (account). Isn’t just wrong to call them burners if they have been alive for so long?

probably the wrong phrase but they are accounts that exist solely to store and sell gold. the farming is done on a separate (botted) account

Yeah. But then they need better tools to investigate and follow up. Not to lock real players out of the games trade options.

But seeing how people often go for the exploit early, exploit often option… and then “I’ve been unrightfully banned!” when they did something they should know was not in good faith / believable error in behavior.

This, just get a month worth of supplies in advance and voila you’ve outsmarted the restrictions, it ONLY hurts new players I highly doubt it combats many bots. Also in my experience from playing WoW it takes blizzard months to ban bots rendering any restrictions like this completely useless. I hate bots as much as anyone else, but this is not how you combat them. Let people bypass these restrictions at least with a verification or something at least. You don’t sacrifice the chickens to prevent the fox from eating the eggs, or something like that.

Fully agree, for the love of god remove it. I have many friends that I got to return to play and now it just feels …meh

I agree that classic is dysfunctional without AH, mail or trade.
Curbing its use is another thing.

Every single profession requires some trading. Cooking even.
Several quests do (hand in boomsticks in Ashenvale requires Engineering, for example).
Enchanting requires Blacksmithing which requires Mining. The rods. Not that enchanting is much fun solo, since it’s 100% sink (with BS-LW-Tailoring you get some cash back).

Especially now that the world is ultra busy, gathering is borderline impossible (not an issue except it requires skill levelling). (That’s one aspect why layer crashes are good. I only got 3 herbs, all of those after landing in a literal garden.)

Bags also aren’t guaranteed but crafting those is mostly aimed at newbies.
(I wanted to type buying them but realized there are small ones from the vendor.)

I understand what it tries to achieve, but it’s like… You can marry a random girl, said to be nice, but you may not talk with her, nor touch her for a month until after your wedding.

Bots will start selling after they levelt to 50-60 after 2-3 weeks… so the penalty hits only normal players on the start…
