New account restrictions must be removed in anniversary classic

It is absolutely insane that blizzard makes people pay for a game they cannot compete in due to their unwillingness to combat bots in a normal fashion.

thank you for this, but, with what? I am literally starting from scratch, no money, which is hard to come by, I have to pay for skills etc, and they cost plenty. I also won’t be able to join in the christmas thing because I will still be restricted at that point. I also prefer to level in dungeons so thats not possible either. I will be so far behind everyone else it will be too much for me to catch up, so I am left behind.
But! why should i pay full price for something and not have access? no warning, no nothing, if they wanted to do this, they should have made it very clear that this is what would be happening BEFORE I paid.

Blizzard being really quiet while scamming new players. But at least now they know what Blizzard is and how customer friendly this corporation truly is.

Every time I come across projects from Blizzard i get scammed, bought diablo 4 season - the economy immediately dies because of the dupe, I buy a subscription for the Living Flame SOD - and they just close the server and I can’t play with friends, now I want to play fresh but I can’t either, it’s just disgusting that when you buy a subscription you can’t use the full game, I’ve never seen anything like this relationships with players.

Yes I’m giving avay free bags and wands to newbies just to show Blizz. We’re quite many valuing a good start for new players over a slight inconveinence for botters.

That is easy to say when you are not one.

Some of you may quit, but that’s a price I’m willing to pay

Exactly. This is SO frustrating. I’ve made nice gold from skinning every kill so far, i try now to level cooking and another profession and i cant use AH to buy the small things having to go farm every little thing hoping for a drop… this is absolutely insane. Its like saying ok lets make the players suffer because of the ones that are cheating.

How about fix your system and punish those cheating instead of your actual players ffs.

If i’ve read correct is that game-time from gamecards does not count towards time to unlock the restrictions? I’ve used a 2 months wow gametime, that means that i am not gonna be able to play normaly until that expires and i use a card to pay for it?
Who the hell creates these policies man, they are absolutely unfair to people playing.
In all honesty if i’d knew itd be like this i wouldnt start.

I understand idk like a 7 or max 10-12 days restriction, isnt that enough to catch your cheaters? but 30 days for everyone?.. wow indeed.

Fresh start mount? You mean SoD or classic in 2019? In both those cases your account should not be limited.

I think it’s to raise the entry cost of botting from one month to two.
And, theoretically, create a window where the bot can be caught - without any revenue. I say theoreticaly because botters can just lay low for a month.

The real issue is that WoW was designed naively for groups (friends and guilds) but over time people lost trust (and time) and the whole thing became some huge P2P P2W framework.

Publishing expectations may simply be middle ground elitism but it is perfect brooding grounds for P2W because you want gold to purchase BiS, recipes, materials, consumables, enchants, everything.

Also, judging by all the people who suddenly disappear from guilds (and the game) once they get their coveted gear, maybe documented by a flexing screenshot, that’s the win (goal).

There are phases (usually early patches) where everyone can just have fun (running dungeons and such) but ultimately the DNA of WoW is P2P P2W. It’s clear to me because I play the reaction MMO in which players casually form groups (for easy-to-medium content but that’s the vast majority) and you get BiS gear and gold from logging on because drops like gear and mounts are the means to enjoy content and not the goal. You can’t have a revolution in WoW without people going mad about it, particularly those who enjoy their share of P2P P2W.

I am canceling my subscriptions because I wanted to play on the 20th Anniversary fresh realm. I created a new account and was shocked. You failed to mention anywhere before or during the launch that with a new account, I wouldn’t be able to use the auction house or trade with other players. I won’t even bother explaining what kind of impact this has on players, especially on a newly launched server. Your employees who make these decisions probably wouldn’t understand anyway, since they’ve likely never played an MMO RPG in their lives. What they will understand is the language of money. I’ve played Blizzard games for many years and spent a considerable amount of money, but after this, Blizzard won’t see another penny from me.

Yes, that is really annoying.
After having some discussions with a few GM´s I was even told that I didnt have to play for thoose days, so basicly they said I can just wait until thoose 26 days had past and then play…
So I can´t help but wonder if this is more to just cash in more “free cash” for blizzard…

As a sidenote, try doing dungeons as a mage and not being able to hand out water. I have to explain to them everytime why I can´t, since not all are even aware of this crippling of newbies, and therefore think u are just a lazy bum.

This is the most ridiculous and customer offending policy they ever brought up. You can’t even get something via C.O.D. from a friend.

I understand they try to avoid bot & chargeback related issues. But what is there to do for bots on a fresh realm anyway?

they could just as well limit trades and ah purchase to eg 10g and monitor new accounts that trade excessively more. This is just lazy design. If you justify this you are just a dumb troll… which you probably are, I don’t know why I’m even responding to you

So we get no official answer from Blizz on this? They just simply dont care if they apply a rule that doesnt make any sense for anyone whatsoever on a fresh start realm? Its not doing anything for the bots though. They can SELL and herd the gold then start selling the moment they unlock their accounts…in the meantime we players can’t enjoy a fresh experience. Being AH locked for over a month is simply crazy and i can’t believe they just dont care about this…

100% True… complete fooled new players who joining again and creatin a new account… bot will grind and save the stuff and straight start selling… no sence

Yeah. I do agree that this should be clear in the info given about these servers!

Gold to buy bags from vendor will be harder than to buy the same size bags from AH or directly from a player leveling tailoring. But it’s not impossible. But as you say you also need gold to buy spells.

However you don’t need to get all the spells instantly as they become available. And you might have to adjust your activities for a bit. But getting bags is an investment and a source for income. Get spells rank 1, then rank up only those you have to while getting bags.

Another option is to make them yourself. But then you’d ofc have to pick up tailoring. You learn Linen Bags at skill 45, and you can get there by making Bolts. You would have to farm around 100 (5 stacks) of Linen to get there though. 45 bolts is enough for 15 bags.

Also remember humanoid mobs are most likely to drop bags and cloth. Stacking items earns you more gold at low levels than armor greys.

So there are solutions. But easy for the player, no.
