And that is fine.
I wish it was the end but we both know it wont end⌠it will keep going on it has for 14 years ever since horde got the race alliance wanted. So these topics will keep popping up until alliance gets what they want Haircolors and skincolors wont be the endâŚafter that people will start demanding more and more until they want blizzard to change void elves names to high elves.
The only thing we ask for is Normal hair colors and hairstyles and IF blizz feels like it Tattoos and feathers (But you can do that for both races)
This is true. The new options, however, will include high elf features, most likely because they represent new elves studying the void without going through the transformation the first void elves went through. These ones might be playable as Alliance high elves, even though they may have some void themed abilities.
Go ahead. Horde high elves are called blood elves, though. Even with blue eyes. Itâs established lore.
See explanation above.
Void elves were originally not a compromise, but their own cool thing. High elf options added in void elves is a compromise, but only if done right.
Slippery slope? Will a man marry his dog next?
Probably, yeah.
Most of the races in this game have access to blonde, brown, ginger and black hair colours. Itâs really not a blood elf exclusive thing. Blood elf heritage armour, elven paladins, Thalassian demon hunters, these are all blood elf exclusive things. A bunch of the new cosmetic options will remain blood elf esclusive. Golden dragonhawks, blood elf specific hawkstriders, Silvermoon city, Horde specific armour and more, are Horde exclusive things that wonât be available for Alliance high or void elves. Far more than a few mere hair colours that one already can find in most other races.
What specifically are you referring to here when you say weâre seeing this already?

High elf stories in the Alliance versus blood elf stories in the Horde. There are of course more blood elf stories, seeing as there are about nine times as many blood elves as high elves. But we have high elves in the Alliance, and we want to play them.
I counted the Number of High elf NPCâs I saw in Azeroth.
But keep in mind, NPC donât equal the number of population. Like obviously they are not gonna show a whole population ingame, same goes to any other race. One example is that they only showed 1 NPC in theramore, but there is obviously more. And Iâm counting her in because there is no evidence to show she died. Some of the citizens were evacuated from Theramore. Anyway letâs start.
Also I might have missed a few places. Obviously I canât explore the whole of Azeroth. But these are the ones I visited.
Dalaran: about 55
Ice crown: about 26
Party Boat thousand needles: about 22
QuelâDanil: 13
Allerian Stronghold: 12
Thunder, Pandaria: 9
Stormwind: +6
Suramar: +4 (Silver covenant)
Telogrus: +3
Hunter Artifact room: 2
Mage Artifact room: ?
Theramore: 1
Ghostlands: 1 (Alleriaâs High elf Ranger)
Boralus: 1
Eastern Plaguelands: about 1
See thereâs still are a lot of High Elves around

So itâs normal for us to ask for normal hairstyles and hair colors from the alliance.
I think for now people should only ask for hair colors not hair styles or things like that.

I mean sure Hairstyles can come later.

They can, but Iâd really prefer they came sooner. =p Iâm so ready for my high elf now!

Ofcourse but yeaaâŚ
I understand that, but this is the reason why some Blood elf fans are against these high elf options. They know fans will want even more and more and will never stop until the race is renamed High Elves. I understand that you donât mean it that way but at the end of the day begging for more and more is only going to anger more Blood Elf fans and Blizzard wonât add anything anymore in the end and Iâm sure you donât want that. You will get and skin, eye and most likely hair colors= so you look like a High Elf. I think itâs kind of ignorant to request even more and more besides hair colors when allied races arenât supposed to get anything fresh and new. And I donât mean to say anything bad but Iâm stating the facts.
Edit: more hair styles, void options (skin and hair colors)etc. will come later when allied races will have their turn, right now the core races have theirs.

And we understand that but we kinda hope that we get natural hair colors before the pre-patch even if itâs not happening. And there is nothing wrong with hoping If I may add.
I was saying in terms of new void skin and hair colors. Natural hair colors could come soon. But Iâm just saying for now thatâs what you should be requesting for. Not new hairstyles and braids and to change the void form to an arcane look.

And I agree. But you cant blame us for some wishfully thinking ^^âŚ
Of course not. But Iâm just saying that requesting even more and more will anger the blood elf fans and then blizzard wonât add any high elf options for Void elves anymore. At least not at the moment is the time to request even more and more. Hair colors should be enough until allied races will get new fresh options.
And still they high elves who are in the alliance still call them self high elves.
Just a fun fact here. The entire race of Quelâthalas was renamed âBlood Elvesâ after the Scourge invasion, by the legitimate ruler of the nation. Yes, even Vereesa was for a short time, a Blood Elf, however shortly afterwards, 10% of the survivors refused to learn the technique of draining mana from living creatures because it was evil (Vast hypocrisy given that High Elves are not vegan, but weâll let that go)
So for a brief time, between Scourge invasion and Mana draining, they were -all- Blood Elves. Doesnât matter where they were living at the time, the decree was universal.
Just a fun face for yâall there.
They donât âstillâ call themselves High Elves. They Renamed themselves -back- to calling themselves High Elves, after being Blood Elves.
There is no double standards because lore wise High elves are in the alliance.
No, 90% of that species call themselves Blood Elves and are in the Horde.
I love it how you say âJust thisâ and then add a few other things to the list. This is always the way it goes. Void elves were a compromise, but still not enough. Skin colours are a compromise, but still not enough for some. Now itâs hair colours, which then itâs not going to be enough. And then after that, something else will come up for sure.
This is the essential problem. a Line needs to be drawn. Personally Iâd be fine with them getting normal hair colours and styles. But that isnât what some pro-High elf people want. They donât just want to look like a High Elf. They want new appearances for their racial (which like, no other race even core ones get) Oh, and some extra customisation would be nice, stuff that the core race doesnât get, and then you get some who go âOh, and Paladinsâ as if Paladins were a High Elf thing! There have been what, four of them ever? The mass utilisation of Paladins in warfare is -definitely- a Blood Elf- thing and not a High Elf thing, for goodness sake, the Blood Elves are, apart from the Draenei that expressly weaponised the concept! (The Silver Hand were few and scattered, not in core units together as such). Then some want the option to choose to see their race as âHigh Elfâ and not Void Elf on the screen.
Seriously!
Iâm a Roleplayer, have been for more than 30 years, and this is seriously some peopleâs sticking point? âCanât be having it saying Void elf on my log in screen, I need the option for it to say High Elfâ
If youâre not roleplaying then what do you care? If you -are- Roleplaying then you know how this gig works, suspension of disbelief. You -know- youâre playing a character and are not -actually- your character! The Stanislavsy method of acting does not work when talking about pixels that are inches tall!
It -doesnâtâŚmatter- whether your race name is listed as âVoid Elfâ and not âHigh Elfâ. Thats not a roleplay element, thats not even a gameplay element, its completely irrelevant. Yet people still say that because the name is âVoid Elfâ they will keep campaigning for playable High Elves.
This is the precise point where even people like myself, who was always chill about it âYeah, give them High Elves, no problem, Blood Elf model, hair, blue eyes, you got itâ Someone who, no actually, to hells with modesty, actually put more care, attention and thought into how High Elves could be implemented despite having no desire to play one, than every person who just posted going âHigh Elves Pleaseâ, this is the point where enough is enough.
Draw a line.
Tell us what is enough to silence this all. Come to a consensus, as right now the High Elf fans wants and desires range from the utterly reasonable, to the borderline insane.
No, donât tell us here. Given that this thread has been utterly derailed, because it really isnât about Blood Elves and Void Elves anymore, but is about High Elves, as usual. There is, I understand, a High Elf discord. Have the discussion there, and work out collectively a coherent and defined list of âdemandsâ, Then come back here and make it known, because right now its just a mess of âI Want thisâ âOh, and thatâ âand That would be neat as wellâ.
Thats where you lose the crowd. Thats where even people like me, who was always ambivalent but supportive go âNo, really, some of these people are nutsâ
Work out what you want, before you ask for it, or you just end up sounding like Classic fans, and lets face it, they are never satisfied are they?

That does not mean there are no high elves in the alliance.
