You misunderstand, I do not suggest the leveling speed being based upon how challenging the content is. I am not opposed to a mode for a more challenging leveling content, but that is irrelevant in this context.
Leveling speed modes = different experience gain multipliers.
Then, there would be pretty much no XP gain in any Open world content as there is absolutely 0 challenge in it.
Itâs boost for newbies on specific servers and only for one character
Too all these people asking for levelling to stop that is just not gonna happen and would not want that. For me 60-70-80 feels within reason and should squish after the level 80 cap.
I never said there should be a correlation between challenge level and experience gained as part of the leveling speed modes.
Yeeaaah, all of this. The journey was pretty much my favorite part. I used to plan out routes for all my characters since every area had its own difficulty. While I still like doing that, itâs just not same since in the end it does not matter, every area has the same level range. Not even in the DF zones it matters much. You can choose the last zone and itâs not much harder. I kinda miss the rewarding feeling of âunlockingâ new areas.

He means level squish not stat squish ( this is technically the third stat squish)
Levelling just needs to have fast options to compensate.
Levelling in Classic is far more arduous than in Retail for example.
nobody wants to level to 120, so the squish to 60 was a good move.
i just hope theyâd maintain it each expansion: 1-50 old content, 50-60 new expansion, squish again each expansion. i have no idea why they are not doing this.
I hope we go back to 80 then 85 then 90.
Judging by previous levels, the best expansions are just up ahead.

Aye, the numbers are scalable. But itâs rarely linearly which means that stuff that works fine at level 60 is broken at 70.
Which is why it would have been in their best interest to not sabotage the work they put into the damn level squish, work that also made it much easier for them to scale the entire world and itâs instanced content to end-game.
When it comes to leveling, especially for new players, blizz should just ditch the current chromie time shenanigans and do a zone with its own story that takes you from lvl 1 to level 60.
And at the end, a cinematic of the current state of the story.
And make that zone completely independent of the rest of the world. If people really want to re-live the past 7 expansions than make chromi reduce your level to that appropriate for the zone you are playing.
That way any squish one does to max level characters only affects one small region where people level up. Much easier to balance out.
The way they did it certainly does, but it doesnât have to.
The main problem with the squish that they did is that they took the opportunity to also apply scaling tech to the whole thing.
This, it turns out, caused A LOT of problems. And itâs causing problems now in Diablo 4 also.
They should ditch all this chromie timeline stuff and just make it rellevant and have the zones scale from 1-60
I agree you and think the level squish is never necessary.
Scaling is perfectly fine. Itâs just that blizzard as usual suck with their implementation and/or slapp extra hidden increases for enemies at certain levels.
Like apparently in D4 enemies get quite the boost at lvl 80.
And remove the extra 10 levels they added in DF.
Keep end-game in the 50-60 range.
100% It breaks legacy content badly, unless Blizzard creates a system where it automatically kicks in based on expansions and not levels then adds a multiplier based on how old the expansion is.
Imagine if they went full squish and max level was level 20, imagine how slow a level would need to be
Make every zone scale 1-70 and upon hitting 70 unlocks quest chains to show the after events of us saving them. Like carry on stories which shows rebuilding.
Implement open world structures thst servers csn build over the duration to provide additional attributes and buffs while in said zones.
Give rewarding aesthetics mounts and development from completing said lands and achievements.
Keep all content avaliable.
WoW has soooo mych it could use in old zones to generate new content without any need to increase world size release new zones or do any major art work. It seems wild why they havent taken advantage of it.
No. because they wonât just do a level squish, they will also need to bring in a stat squish. And we all know how well Blizzard do that.
âThe squish wonât affect older contentâ
ion after stat squish prior to Sl launch.
BFA content prior to squish.
Roflstomping everything in mythic dungeons.
BFA content AFTER stat squish.
Normal trash roflstomping you.
