was a personal opinion about how the game is intended to be played, without an actual clue about the validity of that opinion. Fair enough. Just as
was an equal clueless statement about design decisions, considering the last major portal removal before 8.1 was in 4.0.
I get it you don’t care about changes that does not affect your playstyle. I get it you can offer amusing solutions like
which might be realistic for your playstyle and for that specific location.
I blame probably my lack of skill in English for interpreting the posts as mild form of “I know better how this game should be and how you should play it” then. It’s easy to assume that for people defending some of ridiculous design choices Blizz took in the last years.
As for arguments? There are some splendid posts on US counterpart. You think copying some or rephrasing them would add something to this topic? This discussion does not lack arguments for criticizing the removal of portal. Lacks people willing to read them on the opposite side.
They should take both lots of feedback from both the EU and NA forums and a lot the points for/against will be the same. Then they can consider what needs to be done, if anything.
I think it is the player base asking Blizzard to be heard for once.
We ask them a proof of good will and make a step towards the community, show that for once they can listen.
I show how deep down has gone the trust towards what devs can do and what they can come up with.
It’s a plea to be listened.
Flying reached well over that. When Ion did that interview and he said they weren’t going to add flying anymore the forums exploded and people started quitting the game. It had a huge backlash.
The other thing I can remember had a huge backlash when they wanted to force us to use REAL ID names on the forums. These days with bnet IDs it would be fine.
Yes this is getting a big backlash too and Blizz can’t say they aren’t getting feedback, but lets be real at the same time
Now that Blizzard has financial troubles, they thought that prolonging the game artificially by removing portals would give them higher revenue in the long shot.
If they added flying, I’m sure a lot of people would come back since it’s very tiring to run all the time.
Instead people will leave and Blizzard will be even in the bigger trouble. I hope that this time they will fire people who come up with all these idiotic ideas.
But they do have problem with releasing content on time. Probably they removed the convenient transportation method around Blizz and losing their time on some other ways to get there ^^
In all honesty I think that is mostly because of what tone Jito has set for this thread. Not saying it is right, both sides annoy me when behaviour is shown that way. Some people could take an example from you how to disagree without being hostile.
I have a different opinion to you but I sure have an easy time accepting that because how you bring it.
This change has me fuming. I’m gonna seriously consider giving up the game for good if they remove TB portal from the hub. It’s my favourite city and I don’t have time to spend hours on stupid flight paths just to visit the AH and spend a few mins in my favourite place. Dumb, dumb change.
And next expansion will surely have its own hub with its own set of portals – just as every hub in every expansion before has had.
That’s the thinking behind the portal rooms, right? Consolidate the portals to main city + current expansion hub, so they don’t pile up to a ridiculous amount over countless expansions.
Well, according to Bornakk that may just be an oversight and not something that was intended, and thus will be corrected in a future PTR build.
If it’s not an oversight and it is intended, then I would suspect the reason is because the idea of the portal rooms is primarily to provide access to different continents, and Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluff are already on the same continent – and in short distance from each other even.
