How can anyone in this thread call Sylvanas morally grey character and not a full blown villain and that - after the Wrathgate, after the things which she did in Hillsbrad, after the Gilneas and Teldrassil is beyond me.

I thought burning the tree was a genius move. Obviously not good if you’re a Night Elf but they are the enemy.

It’s amusing how you’re doing the exact thing you accuse people for. No, she didn’t burn the tree because Saurfang failed her. In BfA she did it because an elf hurt her feelings and now with Shadowlands and her true goal for the war being revealed, she did it to feed all those souls to the Maw.

It’s easy to make those presumptions when one doesn’t express oneself well, to be fair.
Well, she asked Saurfang to kill Malfy, to kill Nelf hope.
He didn’t do this, so it’s arguable that his decision not to kill Malfy led to Teldrassil being burned.
I’m not arguing that the Nelf didn’t wind Sylvie up however, but I would argue that this wasn’t the sole reason that Teldrassil ended up getting torched.

Not as much as their recent retcon that thanks to Kyrians, Sylvanas now doesn’t even need those original Val’kyr to save her, and can just get as many as she wants. Which:

Made what Tyrande did in Darkshore by killing Brunja absolutely pointless.

Made her deal with Helya and the entire Stormheim storyline pointless.

My problem with the tree biz is that i still wait my proper equally ruthless revenge and Blizzard said we never are going to get it so… All I got was black eyes and t-shirt : remember that tree.
