OMG Why is Story Mode Dimensius SO HARD?

Mmmmh this thread is not exactly filling me with enthusiasm to go and try it. :weary:

ahahahahahahahahahahahaha what are you doing playing a 3D game then? XD

No, this is the message you get when you fail to reach a circle within the alloted time. On normal it was 10 seconds between each circle you pass through. Story-wise Xal’atath protects you using them but you have to move through the path she gave you so that you can survive at all.

Anyway, I get that it can be frustrating but there’s something really rewarding in overcoming a challenge. It exists and they’ve decided to make the “town-sized” boss actually threatening. Try to work with what you’ve been given and a few attempts later you’ll get it down. You might end up enjoying yourself if you go in with the mindset of learning, not the mindset of being a god among men. If you want I can even run story mode and give you a few pointers on how to make it go better, as I’m sure they’ve erased most mechanics.

Did you read Dungeon Journal? Because that’s all you need to complete Normal or lower difficulty without dying once.

Very well, but where’s my achievement and reward for completing the raid?

You didn’t complete the raid, you completed one story encounter.
And the reward is the same as before with the queen and Gallywix : crafting token.

Im a bit confused where the problem is.

I showed up, did it in one go, left and turned in my quest.
My only thought about it was it went on too long.

It’s very easy TBH, for the flight phase, fly through the circles, and each circle shows a line leading to the next circle (Just like the dragonriding tutorial/races), and that leads you to the platforms with the baddies, which aren’t complicated either.

First go I didn’t realise I needed skyriding active so died when it went to second phase, second go it didn’t recognise my druid flightform as a skyriding mount so died again, third go all the npcs died during the first phase, finally got it done on the fourth attempt.

You don’t need skyriding active in Storymode, it’s perfectly doable without it.
But you do need to keep moving and fly through each circle!

Couldn’t mount without it so I disagree

Well good for you, I on the other hand couldn’t so I guess its the usual Blizzard bugfest

This is why story mode was a bad edition to the game.

I had no trouble but I play as a tank regardless of the fact the followers tank for me, and I am used to raid mechanics. I was able to guess what to do fairly easily but I can see how those not used to it would be confused.

OK i did it. but it wasnt so hard. the fly mode (i hate it in dawnbreaker) is straightforward. Just i dont understand why putting it in a boss.

Can you imagine the Dimensius fight in LfR? (inb4 “Well, LfR was a bad addition too!”)

This is the first fight where it’s possible to fail in story mode, but it’s easy enough if you know what you’re doing (In the “General gameplay”-sense, all i knew was a very rough rundown of the phases on WoWhead, so i knew there was a flying phase, but nothing more than that), i one-shotted it on two characters, only got close to messing up the flying phase on the second, when i lost sight of the next circle.

I didn’t lose 10% of my HP at any time… As a Paladin Healer. Maybe your item level is just too low?

Might be the dumbest question of the month, but how do you even start story mode?

Edit: going well, didn’t mean to wrote this as a reply to you.

There’s a guy to the left of the entrance portal to the raid, i forgot his name, it’s some sort of military title (He’s the tallest of the three, the others are vendors), he has a conversation option to go into story mode.
