Paying for talent change

makes no sense.

The reason is simple. We do not know talents, how do they work, how strong they are etc. We still experiment and check new possibilities. Why there are only 2 specializations? I would like to have 3-4 for only discipline to check which build is the most suitable for me, the same for holy. We have 2022.

People did not leave WoW because UI only new content and mechanics changes. UI can be better and better.

Next issue, if problem is known why Blizzard did not fix the bug with skill compatibility. I have different values between this what’s written on buff and on the bar (eg: inner fire).

Well, what you do is put “best talents for X spec doing Y” into google and copy what they say.

It’s what the vast majority do.

This is only a someone’s opinion, not a global truth.

Vast majority man, are {c e n z o r s h i p}. That’s why we have plandemic-1984. So do not give such argument sir!

Google “wotlk classic simulator”. Top result probably.

Changing talents and hitting a target dummy isn’t accurate regardless of free respecs.

No, paying for talent amendments makes no sense and is pointless. We also could pay 100g for volume increase and decrease and for changing direct X 11 or 12 to check how the GFX looks like.

When you use metaphors to argue your point, you need to use ones that are least comparable and not a complete strawman.

You can find armory of the best PVP players and PVE players on Warmane if you are interested to copy/paste the talent tree… No need to respec so often…

Or you could, you know. Use a talent calculator, check the possibilities, play around a bit and I know this is a difficult one but you could perhaps think before before you respec. I get that the monkey typewriter option seems enticing, but it isn’t the best way to figure out how you want to spec.

No, most crunch numbers so you don’t have to, What I mean is like “what are the best holy talents for healing raids.”

You really think everyone uses a hundred respecs to find the best? No, the majority of people just use google.

That would good, except, where is the Wrath armoury?

While it is true I do agree with OP that how WotLK handles decision making is pretty rough if you fail to do extensive research about your class and talent options. I mean we’re basically commiting to the specific build at level 10 while still being in our introductory zones and way before most of those talents matters. There’s also issue with less than reliable guides. Personally had to repec pretty early when I decided that I’ll be tanking since shortly before hitting level 20 I already noticed the lack of tanks (as well as being Prot gave me decent options for solo leveling if I could not find a party). Here went 1 gold. Now 40 levels in I noticed that I really struggle to maintain Aggro since Paladin’s only AoE is DoT based… Turns out the guide probably assumed rushing to level 60 and thus did not account for struggles midway through. Nevermind another gold coins deducted but I fixed the issue rushing Seal of Command earlier then another post 60 to finally get the best from Protection kit and talents.

So even with guides the respecs will happen. Either because of personal preference or needs of the group (will any guild have use of me as a Prot/Holy dual spec or will I have to change one of those into Ret?) or changes in player Focus. So yeah would be nice if #somechanges reached that QoL zone.

It does make sense, you just forgot about the role-playing aspect of this role-playing game.
You pay money for tutor to teach you new abilities as you get more experienced (gain levels), and so you also pay money for the tutor to lead you through training that allow you to put all the past expertise with what you learned so far - (choosing and improving your specialization through talents) - behind you and start over with clear table.

The only thing I would change for Classic is lowering the max cost of talent reset.

50g per respec is suuuuuch a big summ of money in Wrath!

What you are describing in not talent sets, but specialisation change from retail.

That’s an in game explanation yes. But I’ll be frank it was made for a gameplay purpose. Basically a means to remove gold from server. It’s one thing that will remain relevant regardless of where the player is although by WotLK we will outdo the cost by a mile. Especially since RMT and bots are a thing and will impact everyone in the process of getting extra money.

Depends on how often you reset your talents. If it’s very often, it easily accumulate into over thousand gold spent on talent reset within one month.

Why doesn’t it surprise me? But in all respect not everyone is at Wrath levels and generally the ones that will more often need to respec are players around 40-60 levels who may want to swap their spec if they feel dissatisfied with their previous pick.

If you just read your talents and think about it for 2 min it is pretty clear what to get for PvE and PvP. Like, you would be hard-pressed to actually get it very wrong. If you want the best possible spec for single target, trash clearing, arena or BG, just google it like any normal person, chances are, somebody else put much more thought and testing into it than you ever possibly could.

Edit: Also wowhead has a levelling spec guide for literally every possible class and role, and those I read were always almost peefectly spot on.

You do realize it’s a 15 year old game with hundreds of guides right? Or that you have PTR to experiment? Or that 50g is basically going out of Dalaran for 5 minutes?
