[PCU/Horde] Saurfang Legion šŸ¤¼ā€ā™‚

Hold your phone.

Quit giving Trade Prince Jastor Gallywix too little credit!!!

Yes itā€™s understandable. I mean, I donā€™t know if I like it that much, but I see that this might be a good way to save an entire OOC community. And make it believable.

Well, I like this part. As long as the whole new dynamic isnā€™t done in the ā€œcorrupt officerā€ style of the Alliance, I believe it might work and become reason for good IC conflict and stories, but also stability for the PCU community.

Then I suppose you should find some rebel-themed guildā€™s thread and ask why they played their characters in a way where they had no regard for their lives / didnā€™t seem to understand why it would seem quite goofy / dangerous to sprint up to soldiers of an incredibly tyranical regime and begin telling them that they love saurfang / democracy / pasta sauce jars

Your complaint is really directed at them at this juncture, isnā€™t it?

Agree

Not at all. I donā€™t even briefly care about your OOC gripes

Iā€™m not really sure what this means at all but the Stygian Legion was renamed almost as a punishment / a reminder of who they serve and IC has had many of its leadership replaced, usually with members of the rebellion and with a focus on decentrailised power and serving the Horde over a specific leader. Of course, thatā€™s just a party line and many members may or may not resent the new order but that is just a hook for interesting IC conflict between the deposed old guard, the new leadership and so on. Itā€™s been really fun so far and has brought us many returns in terms of player responses / activity / character development

The PCU is an OOC community that is 100% unchanged by any lore changes. It is a discord server for like-minded roleplayers and has - for example - a growing Alliance-side presence and even Horde guilds that arenā€™t part of the Stygian/Saurfang Legion. Iā€™m not sure why you believe that events happening within the body politic of the Horde should effect that

The IC group this thread is about is now lead (or rather chaired by) this character who is some lawful/neutral good ex-rebel centurion who really hates tyranny and deserted the army because of what he considered dishonourable actions on Sylvanasā€™ part

I feel like you didnā€™t even read the OP I so caring wrote, dude =(

Make no mistake, Iā€™ve said it before (in this very thread, which no one seemed to disagree with) and Iā€™ll say it again, Iā€™m pretty sure many stygians (not PCU, important difference as pointed out above!) would have been really into a story where they basically have to flee into exile for their deeds and make the difficult choice between fighting for redemption or trying to sabotage the new regime and make way for the Banshee Queen once more.

Sweats in ten characters.

I am not pointing fingers at all, so letā€™s not play a victim role even before accusations are remotely formulated. You care enough to reply and to feel attacked by fairly reasonable concerns.
And honestly, I feel like you should care.

It is known that many people often use their OOC authority to influence IC outcome and players in general. On occasion this has become quite the issue [on Alliance for example] and I believe itā€™s good to clarify that the new stygians will not be playing this type of card.

This is one of the situations where a simple answer like Tehyaā€™s provide a lot of insight.

I feel like you didnā€™t catch the whole double standard thing dude. I mean, let other people do the PR thing, youā€™re clearly not cut for it.

I donā€™t imagine heā€™s trying to do the PR thing right now. Seems more like dismantling your posts. Kind of a thing you just gotta do when people start :clown_face:ing up your thread.

Not sure what the clown face mean, but I think my question hasnā€™t been hostile? It was a genuine concern and I was satisfied by the first replies.

There was little to no need to take an already solved question and antagonize it.

Either way, I wonā€™t derail the thread anymore. Good luck with your project, Iā€™ll look forward to hear the new deeds of the stygians!

I reply because I like to win forum arguments and because it is a free bump

Feel away

OOC authority isnā€™t something that actually exists outside of a guild / community structure

I donā€™t see why there needs to be any OOC involvement in IC actions

I am absolutely cut out for it because Iā€™ve instantly reduced you to sniping (donā€™t get defensive!, do better PR!) instead of making any point and b. leaving the thread with your nose red / your wig colourful

[would hit you with a dab and force you to bump my thread one more time]

You want me to reply and derail your thread for several posts in what looks like a discussion about petty things, or you just want to vent and have the last word?

Both arenā€™t really charming qualities for a guild leader tbh

Lol good luck winning any argument with these skills

IC authority doesnā€™t exist without your consent either. I donā€™t know how people say other players are dominating their RP like just donā€™t interact lmao just walk away

Other players only have as much authority as youā€™re willing to give them

There can hardly be a challenge if one of the two parties hasnā€™t accepted it in the first place (yet).

rlly strange then how you keep digging @ it + sniping + replying ad nauseum

How ironic when said by the same people replying to me, huh

Either, it truly doesnā€™t matter

t. Iā€™m not owned Iā€™m not owned :corn:

Exactly, I just mean that I canā€™t actually ban people from this server with my secret OOC powers (if only ā€¦)

You work for me now

Keep it bumped, janny

Ok
Then let me tell you why IC and OOc compenetrate with one another.

Short answer: you canā€™t think the former without the latter and vice-versa.

By that I mean that IC makes sense only as long as OOC sets motivations and the framework upon which the role-play takes place. Without these implicit agreements (that are multiple and of several shapes and forms) you can have no RP at all. But at the same time, within said framework, only IC will enhance the OOC experience.

IC concerns about community and intents are important to understand on a OOC basis too. ā€œAre the characters going to be truthful to their new philosophy, or are they just masking something?ā€

Clearly that is not something you reply to with IC-only context.
If you said ā€œyesā€ or ā€œnoā€, that choice would tell me something about the players too (=their approach to RP and their idea of RP being a collaborative effort, where both parties should end up satisfied or just one?)

Edit.

By the way, this highschool replies/strawman are not only weak from an argumentative pov, but usually testify the impotence of the user in the actual debate.

Youā€™re not concerned about what is being discussed, only about looking good.

Shut up zoomer
