PCU, why is it so hated? Serious discussion

Can you source many such instances?

No. I donā€™t dislike it. I have friends in it and donā€™t get involved with the community. I dislike individuals in it is all.

Donā€™t worry - you can RP with me, sometime.

The beautiful Leiā€™liah Vanestri and theā€¦interesting Vaxir

Cool if you believe yourself. Your behaviour over the past few days hints otherwise.

I wonā€™t source those that donā€™t belong to me, because that would force someone else to step in who may or may not want to get involved within this childish discussion.

In my case, I can redirect you to this thread:

This is the start, when confronted, the guy (who is an officer in your community) goes on to claim heā€™s certain that itā€™s true. Ofc, all the small fries follow, including - look! - you:

Ironic that youā€™re actually part of them, yet seem not to remember to the point you had to ask for sources.

Note how I waited to call out this attitude in a serious way until the following discussion, where this attitude happened again;

Edit.
ERP is usually acknowledged as one of the worse things people ca do out here on the forums, so these unsubstantiated accuses are really bad slander. Itā€™s also counterproductive to the self-proclaimed role of anti-ERPers when you accuse random people of being ERPers because they donā€™t think like you do.

Its almost like you have a long standing history of being a contrarian clown, and as such get treated accordingly.

Disrespect begets disrespect.

This is not disrespect, Tehya. This is outright defamation, which is very, very different.

The average insult is part of the game - it is something you expect in a discussion on a videogame forums. On the other hand, people trying to make you pass for someone that youā€™re not with the intent of being disliked by a wider audience, thatā€™s really a big ā€œnoā€ thing.

I guess donā€™t do things you donā€™t want to be accused of doing in the future :pensive:

Iā€™m sure people will treat you nicer as soon as you treat them nicer, hell, even we agree from time to time.

I remember that one time in Ashran where I bumped into Perroy and two of his Rotgarde comrades on my horde priest. I healed him and then he left me to die at the hands of filthy alliance dogs. If that does not justify hatred, I donā€™t know what does.

On a more serious note, my own experiences with Perroy, the Rotgarde and later other PCU guilds have always been positive. I have great memories of campaigns where they were involved. Last year I temporarily joined HoC for a campaign and was impressed both by their quality and the very lovely people running it. Gobbert has a place in my heart as one of the kindest people Iā€™ve ever met on AD.

So no, I donā€™t get the accusations. As far as I can see the PCU as a whole does not deserve them. Neither does Perroy. If you have issues with individuals, Iā€™d suggest taking it up with the people in charge because Iā€™m willing to bet that they would sort it asap. My own conclusion has been that a lot of people like to complain, love to gossip and enjoy drama. For some reason from what Iā€™ve seen, the most passionate anti-PCU crowd often seems to fit these criteria, and for that simple reason I prefer to take those opinions with plenty of salt.

This completely misses the point.
First - I have been nice in many occasions, we both know it doesnā€™t work.
Second - this isnā€™t about being nice, this is literally defamation, ā€œ written communication of a false statement about another that unjustly harms their reputation and usually constitutes a tort or a crimeā€.

And as you can see, Iā€™m not defaming anyone here, thereā€™s nothing false in what I am stating.

If you think disagreeing/ā€œbeing contrarianā€ is a sufficient excuse for bullism, as your post kinda implies, I can only imagine how many times this thing might have happened.

can you slide me an instance (and this time actually fit the criteria!) where you were nice (this also includes not launching baseless accussations!) and got poop emojiā€™d on in return?

i think if you go out of your way to disagree with everything for the sake of disagreeing, negative attention is the endgame ergo youā€™re getting precisely what you request.

iā€™m sure you donā€™t deny the dragon part, and just today you proved your excitement over rp involving which characters you rlly wanna bone ic

Being a rival for Vaxir is:

1:02 - 1:04

If I recall correctly that very conversation I linked has several cases of me being polite and discussing politely while all these background comments occur.

I donā€™t think highly of you either, but I donā€™t feel the urge to post my opinions about you everytime I see you on the forums.

Overall, this is switching from the main topic anyway, so itā€™s not very important.

Yeah, I did RP as a dragon. I literally placed that on my characterā€™s AA. I placed that also in RP campaigns. Itā€™s not a secret. But Iā€™m not a rare case, it just happens Iā€™m not shy about it. Many people in the PCU do/did aswell. So what. And I never gave my excitement about who I want to bone (note how even dating is very different from boning). You can look for yourself how many times I have posted in that thread. I just said itā€™s freaking sad to judge others for this harmless threads. And I stand by my statement.
But I liked that ā€œroast the player above youā€ thread, which was also being accused of being an unnecessary thread aswell, I suppose.

Your entry (i think, didnā€™t find any earlier posts of yours in there) into that thread is you saying that IC dislike for velves is OOC motivated, not sure what one might expect if you drop that line.

If I recall correctly I say itā€™s motivated OOCly by the concept? Because people donā€™t like velves OOCly.

It does, yes, but Iā€™m not seeing what that changes.

Something about pot and kettle comes to mind.

The only reason why PCU stands out in this regard compared to other people/communities on AD is that because of their numbers, you are likely to stand against many players in an argument. ItĀ“s easy to think you are bullied when instead of arguing with 2 people from guild/community, you suddenly argue with 10 (whose posts are liked by other 20).
