To those that say sentinels dressing in skimpy get-up is the general canon:

These are not the only ones I could find, but while the generic city sentinel still isn’t covered head-to-toe in plate, there are the examples posted above which are. Point being, the ‘skimpy sentinel’ is often taken to extreme levels by roleplayers and doesn’t look accurate to the NPC representation.

Whether ‘showing skin = bad’ in a fantasy setting is another subject, but I prefer my elves in practical armour.
