Pet Peeve: The Undying

yeah but it’s like the third time Shadra dies and Rezan only existed from 8.0-8.0, so there really wasn’t a lot of impact to make there.

We already killed her twice in rando Hinterlands quests. She’ll be back.

They confirmed that the Loa killed in 8.0 are not permanently dead. They’ll regenerate with time.

I know, but I was just expecting more from the apparent Loa of Kings. His few steps and blood magic death was so… Eeeeh.
At least Torga got to be reborn immediately. Little baby Loa.

as Telaryn mentioned, Loa don’t really perma-die so easily. Giving them mega-dramatic deaths would just be… odd, y’know?

I feel like they’re the same excuse.

Blizzard decides a character is going to be bad, and thinking of a reason is too much effort, so BAM, a case of terminal corruption-cancer.

I think Legion had some of the most egregious bullsh-t on this front, with the entire town of Darkshire turning evil for no reason other than posing a brief hindrance in getting artifact weapons. Bishop Farthing as well, for an entirely separate quest.

I forget the details of all of the artifact weapon quests, but I feel like there were more people randomly turning evil…

I told you already. I live for the drama. I want a drama bomb!
I’d also like Vol’dun to grow a bit of green with Sethraliss being reborn, then the Vulpera can build on it, and it will be where their town is located… I can dream.

Wasn’t there something about how Shadra was killed using that Drakkari magic that consumed their souls, though?

I think that’s Blizzard’s way of trying to be hip and cool by saying “yeah established religious institutions are CORRUPT.”

And apparently massacring most of the town, which we still don’t know for sure what the situation is now.

that seemed to very much come with an asterisk.

Namely, the condition that the one that stole her loa juice didn’t die literally an hour after. Which she did.

But we already have two jungles on Zandalar, don’t give us another.

Also, bad idea, ranishu would just eat everything and swarm.

any character can come back from the dead if it fits the narrative guys

Except Zuni.

The game has too many deserts. More open grasslands! A beautiful savannah, and as the sun rises over the mountains towards Nazmir…

NAAAANTS INGOYAMAAAA BAGHITI BABA

The Loa that were killed by Drakkari magic in Northrend continued to live on as spirits on the Other Side.

The Horde quest for Temple of Sethraliss confirms that a Loa spirit will return in time once it can rejuvenate its avatar. Sethraliss could not come back because the Faithless specifically prevented her avatar from rejuvenating, so you go and put an end to that and now Sethraliss is back.

Stands to reason that in time the others will rejuvenate their avatars as well, seeing how the Drakkari magic that killed them historically fails to destroy their spirits.

But in the Cinematic, Vol’dun was a jungle before its desolation, so it would just start reverting back.

Yeah, but do you see any trees? Grasses would probably establish themselves long before any trees spring up.

Anyway, I just want more gorgeous open savannah, after they ruined the only one we had by dotting it with Kor’kron camps, cutting it in half, slapping up a giant wooden wall and then converting the last bit into an ugly, blasted warfront…

The Barrens really looks dreadful post-Cata.
