No – you can still play the original ROME: Total War and, if you don’t already own it, ROME: Total War is included when you purchase Total War: ROME REMASTERED. If you already own ROME: Total War, it will still be present and playable on Windows in your Steam library.

I doubt they’re going to promise to make some changes but then not make them and then just outsource it to some company in malaysia and never talk of it again. Either.
Edit: Fair play to Lemon Sky Studios though, the models are pretty damn slick.
Honestly in the entertainement industry, I stopped blaming the whole outsourcing to other countries because more often than not they do a pretty good job at it. I’d rather they don’t but it is what it is.
The problem often originates from the “direction” given by the western company. Aimless, terrible management, change of ideas on the fly…
I am still conducting penance for prepurchasing it, every friday is donated to 24 hours of flagellation. Some day the sin will be washed away. 
Now imagine living here. It looks like they’re working on the right to peacefully protest being made illegal, and people are just blindly going “Yeah, but all those protests in London were bad!”

I prepurchased it and then got it refunded before it dropped once I saw the writing on the wall (and once I won my one and only multiplayer beta match, thus resulting in a 100% winrate, best player in the world, tyty)
Every time it gets brought up I have to chase it up with three hail marys.
I got it as a gift, so I didn’t lose anything, but it still makes me feel a bit bad.
Reforged is the last time I preorder anything that’s not the next wow or FF14 expansion (because I may as well, I’ll play both no matter how bad they are)

The cynic in me is thinking this is to take advantage of people who forget to cancel their sub and/or look better in the next quarter.
