The Hound, the Crow, the Serpent and the Raven are iirc Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh and Tzeentch in Norsca.

Ye-ah, I turned the Chaos Invasion off.
Mostly because I find it boring and irritating more than challenging. Honestly, I don’t consider myself a ‘good’ (or even mediocre, frankly) TW player, and I seem to struggle to micro in battles AND open world in a way that makes the mechanical cheese of Chaos just a chore for me.
Skaven are bad enough, frankly.

Edit: I don’t like playing Chaos for the same reasons, tbh. They’re clunky and outdated and really hope TW3 makes them fun to use, heh.
And makes Beasts not The Actual Worst, ahah.

Bah, I can’t find pics back from when the ‘Swords of Chaos’ revamp of WHFB Chaos came out, when Archaon debuted as a proper character with all the different factions heroes, new Chaos Warriors etc.

They had some stunning, silver-blue Chaos Warriors for the Tzeentch side (along with some very nicely icky Nurgle ones) and I can’t find the pics :frowning:

Tbh I do really like AoS, not as much as fantasy, but that’s just because my main way of getting warhammer content is video games and well… name one currently released AoS game that isn’t a bad mobile game.

Good warhammer games are rare diamonds anyway. WHFB is lucky because they have one good and one decent game running at the same time right now, but that hasn’t always been the case. 40k has rare gems in mountains of shovelware.

Yeah quality video-game wise AOS is a barren wasteland, alas

I prefer WHFB for tabletop rpgs, AoS for the wargaming side of things at this point

Currently playing Dark Crusade as Chaos. (Didn’t really pick any favorite, just figured I’d start there. Thought of doing all the campaigns, but we’ll see if that’ll end up happening.) Also considering picking up Soulstorm at some point.

Edit: Just recently wiped out the Imperials. Haven’t decided on my next target yet, currently clearing out the neighboring areas around their stronghold.

Winter Assault and Dark Crusade were good, but I despised the rolling nerfs and 0-1ing of units with the expacs.

It ruined the ‘grinding war of attrition’ that felt unique to DoW when they made Terminators and Land Raiders 0-1 units. And then Kasrkin and Ogryns was just a stupid decision, end of.
