My second D&D session tomorrow and the DM messaged us to say that it’s likely we’ll hit a level up mid session, so we have to prepare what abilities/spells we’re taking ahead of time so it doesn’t slow us down.
I’m scared. I never thought I’d get this far and have no idea what to take when there’s so many options. I’ve got an additional two level 1 spells to choose from and an extra cantrip.
Okay I lied I do want to explain I just wanted the power move
Catapult is a spell that is hilarious (it is literally yeet) and decent as a damage spell if you want to be boring about it and also has so much hidden utility.
Fling an open bear trap at your enemy’s legs! Fling a rock at the trap release switch! Fling a flask to smash at the wall to distract an enemy! Turn a flask of oil over and then Catapult it to make a trail!

The actual peeve is that it’s being so aggressively misrepresented by both the media and fringe weirdos that I’m getting tired of having to explain what it actually means (and has always meant)
I honestly think Andrew Garfield made a better Peter Parker and Tobey Maguire a better Spider Man. Garfield’s depiction of Peter Parker is consistent with how he’s portrayed in some media. Of course to each their own, but given the rumours of both of them appearing in the third Spider Man movie I think it’ll be a nice way of coming full circle and officially “passing the torch” to Tom Holland.
The thing I don’t like about Tom Holland spiderman is that for me a pretty core part of (Peter Parker) Spiderman is that his life as Peter Parker kinda sucks a lot and I don’t think billionaire backed elite school boy Peter Parker fits that.
It honestly doesn’t. That being said I think they just wanted to do something different. We already had Tobey Maguire as the unpopular kid/loser. Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker is more like the Ultimate Spiderman version.
I like both even if the original trilogy has aged rather poorly [the memes!] and the Amazing Spider-Man movies are more flawed overall.
I prefer MCU’s Aunt May to the other versions - why are they Grand-Aunts? Never understood the choice in comic snippets or w/e
Having Tony Stark’s backing is probably a bit meh for Spider-Man fans, but tbh - a school kid engineering their own stuff in the garage (what garage if they’re poor?) is a bit too unrealistic if we’re talking about tech, so it makes sense.
Besides, the entire Homecoming movie was about how the suit doesn’t define him, he defines himself or w/e no?
Anyway, can’t wait for Fantastic Four so we can get some Spideytorch. Doesn’t matter which versions (Garfield and Holland were fine with doing Bi-derman!), you can’t not tell me Spideytorch is not canon from what’s gone on in the comics.
Honestly i’m not that interested in MCU stuff; never been that massively into super heroes or stuff like that. But i’m looking forwards to Eternals, only because it has my one and only man crush Richard Madden in.
