Pet peeves: The return (Part 1)

Warhammer fantasy became amazing to me after I started playing Vermintide 2. All the character interactions and lore the heroes talk about has taught me all I need to know about the setting to know that it was cool.

Victor Salzpyre is the best.

As for all the nonsense about WH40k it doesn’t matter who wins so long as the T’au lose.

Channels such as Majorkill (obviously), Baldemort & Noman keep WH40k fresh and good for me.

I want Shadowlands to be considered non-canon.

The entire expansion relies on this notion “Don’t think about it too much.” but I just can’t when I get started, I can poke so many holes into it, you’d think a Machine-gun had been used.

I want those Men in Black Flash tool to forget and leave myself a note saying “Don’t ever look into it, it’s dog :poop:.” Or at the very least have the entire server agree on this one thing alone that the expansion never happened, the Scourge invasion was just an accident from Bolvar and he spent the entire expansion trying to reign it in.

Another FFXIV peeve: some emote animations that continue indefinitely until canceled in WoW have a finite duration here, like /kneel and the default /dance (although the special dances you learn from quests do continue indefinitely).

(On the bright side, the /kneel animation is gorgeous and I’m pleased that /facepalm is actually animated.)

I love their backstory and how people continue to underestimate them even when these bastards are one of the two enemies of the Imperium who have laid siege to Terra.

Orks (Krorks at the time) were designed to take on the friggin Necron AT THEIR PEAK. If you have any idea how ridiculously scary the Necron are, then you know that the Krorks also meant business. But then they devolved into a bunch of infighting hooligans. And even know they are probably still one of the biggest threats in the galaxy.

Yes, I know the lore out and out. If anything, the Beast series which you speak of is regarded poorly due the various lore inconsistencies in it, and the way it renders modern Ork warlords pitiful in comparison to how silly OP the Orks are in that series.

Its not a support.

its a full DPS where 4 of your spells just so happen to be raid buffs (but do stuff for you too)

BRD is fun once you hit 60, but I hate trying to get there.

I’m not overly fond of monk.

NIN is one of my two favourite melees

Level bard, if only just for the musical instruments!

Ooh, okay.

I’m not actually especially interested in the musical aspects to - I like the ranger class fantasy more than bard

Shadowlands was just a possible future that Bolvar was witnessing while sitting on the Frozen Throne.

Actual, literal pet peeve: My cousin’s kitten is visiting us for the weekend, but my own cat and her are still looking at each other like “What is this? Who are you, what are you doing here?” Also when the new kitten wants to come to me, Nala hisses as if she’s saying “Get away from -MY- hooman!” Still, atleast they havent lashed out at each other, and little kitten is just exploring a bit while Nala watches her.

The WFRP4e starter set by Cubicle 7 includes an in-depth guide to Ubersreik around 10 years before the game and includes, among others, an adventure revolving around Franz Lohner, the innkeep, if that sort of stuff is of any interest… :sunglasses:

I feel you. I’m weirded out that they don’t really give a lore justification for why an archer would be interested in becoming a bard, beyond “Well, both bows and harps have strings so it’s related I guess!”

I do have a level 70 bard and a level 50-something machinist, but neither of the class fantasies appeal to me that much; the class quests for the former just seemed very… underwhelming to me.

On the subject of the Scourge invasion, I still love how they didn’t even try and bother explaining how there would suddenly be ten thousand ghouls running around Redridge, let alone The Barrens. At least in vanilla and Wrath the Scourge employed necropolises that would besiege various areas in the world and that’s where the undead came from.

NGL Archer becoming BRD is the reason I didn’t make an FF14 version of Croecell.

If we ever get beastmaster, I may make her then, but i just could not do BRD.

EDIT: now having levelled BRD multiple times, its a struggle to get it to 60 where it blooms.

if and only if they make them a melee class

Maybe with claw weapons and/or wildshape that’d be sweet

in other FF games they either use a crossbow or an axe? i think? Will come back and correct this when my friend texts me back.

Also most likely to use maiming gear.

EDIT: I was correct, its a hand axe.

Yeah Beast Arises has issues out the #¤%! no doubt about that. But it also adds some interesting new stuff to the lore. Like the fact that the Imperium beating the orks at Ullanor was their BIGGEST victory to date in their peak before everything went to hell with Horus. And it also solidified the orks as a for real threat at the time. Even if almost everyone who was alive at the time is already dead and people have forgotten how dangerous they are.

But Ghazghkull will have his day and people will remember that dismissing them as simple, unreasoning brutes is a fast route to the graveyard.

I like the Octarius War because Orks vs Tyranids is funny
