I think the actual environment detail in Lotro is very good, and actually the armour is decent too now.

However I still think the actual player models look really off. Not sure what it is, possibly the eyes? They also look a bit like wax models rather than people/

It truly was his final fantasy… and he did it.

He did it my way.

The only fantasy here is yours, and we shall be its final witness.

My peeve is that I’m cold, constantly, no matter the number of layers I wear!

It doesn’t help that when I sit down to try and play WoW, the fans of my PC make me even colder. :sob: At least that will come in handy for the Summer, I suppose.

And the walk animations look so stiff. Does wonders for RP immersion.

Environment design is amazing, though. The world’s size feels just right, spacious enough to allow for a lot of detail, but not so overstretched that it takes forever to travel anywhere.

I noticed yesterday that my Beorning doesn’t have a walk animation in bear form, it just runs very slowly.

Very jarring.

EDIT: I did just unlock Wanderlust though which basically makes my bear form run at mount speed which is very nice, because I hate how horses look and animate.

Like WoW yak mounts before… 9.1, I think. They used to lack a walk animation and instead rrrran reeeeally sssloooowly in walk mode.

Such a strange thing to overlook, because presumably the walk animations do exist for these models since they exist as mobs/npcs around the world. I mean this in both the case of the yak and also the beorning bear.

I like playing a beorning because in my “RP” as I adventure through the world I don’t feel dumb for not knowing much about events and places, because my guy just lives in a little shack in the middle of nowhere with his bear family and is oblivious to goings on.

Oblivious characters are a blessing for when your new to a setting/game because its good justifications for learning things as you go or lapses in knowledge

Seriously. Playing a Night Elf when I first started WoW was a bit intimidating. Never play an ancient race if you don’t know anything.
