Pet peeves: The return (Part 11)

Just realised I can be confident in Stormwind being rebuilt before WC3 so my timeline for Kaytlinne is accurate.

Just walked past and checked the plaques on the Valley of Heroes, and two are from Antonidas and Sylvanas. So they must have been alive/not undead when Stormwind was rebuilt. Small win for me haha.

Edit: just found Renzik and Shaw… good lord.
Cata was the best visual thing to happen to Goblins :grimacing:

Edit 2: Uuuuhhhhh I see the Sewer Beast in the canals, what the heeeeeccckk…

I’m not necessarily a perfectionist or obsessively compulsive (thankfully) but oh boy does it bug me when I have to pick up someone else’s work and it’s formatted differently to the way I like it.

Especially if it’s slapdash. I’ll get back into work after a few days off and my excel spreadsheet tables suddenly don’t have borders, three different fonts, some centred, some centred right, dates just broken entirely.

Just format paint! Make it neat!

The most first world of first world problems.

The pace of everything is so much slower on Classic. I don’t even mean the obvious stuff, like combat and levelling.

I’m constantly broke. Money is very slow to accumulate at low levels, then it vanishes just as fast on levelling and items.

No flightmaster between Stormwind and Goldshire. I’ve run back and forth about 3 times now. It’s not bad, just something you become very aware of after Retail for so long.

Every new bit of equipment, even whites and even some greys, is now worth examining to see if its better. Because oh boy, you will not be affording the shops for a while…

I… admit, I kinda see why some people complain that the world feels too small, now. Because when all you can do is run, everything feels bigger. I got a ‘simple’ delivery quest to Loch Modan and… yeah, I can see why that’s currently classed as red, purely for the distance!

Pick up herbs and/or ore
it doesn’t give you exp to pick stuff up
but it there’s usually a decent enough income to be made to at least make sure you can learn all your skills

also the funniest delivery quests are the ones that are red but when you brave it you arrive to a whole hub of green quests… I don’t remember where that was though. But jogging into Loch Modan is doable even at lower levels if you just avoid some of the unfriendlier looking people on the road. Takes forever though so put on some music

The classic wetlands run for night elves looking for weapon training

The game: “Stay on the roads to avoid combat : )”
The Wetlands: “Yeah : ) do that : )”

Veilguard added some free weapon appearances yesterday, to help drum up sales, which is great and all, free content always appreciated, but the DLC page doesn’t actually show what they look like. All the pics are just the same as the main Veilguard steam page.

Not a big deal, but kinda stupid.

Everyone talks about the dread of an aggroed defias or murloc. The sounds of gnolls crocs and raptors claimed more night elf lives than Sylvanas did

Strangely enough the road thing totally works for like 90% of the Plaguelands? As long as you don’t directly run into the odd gargoyle crossing the road, the Scarlet patrol or charge into Corin’s Crossing like a bull.

IRL peeve. Shifted to being on the playground for lunch duty… and the broad incompetence is worse than I thought. The medical station is so poorly placed it disallows any quick reaction, the climbing frame is monitored in a lazy parental ‘they’ll be fine’ way instead of a professional, interactive and safety conscience fashion.

It’s just bad generally.

Back in my day if you cracked your skull open, then by golly that was just the way it was! Put a bit of spit on it and get back to playing.

Been levelling with a guide for a while now and that has really given me some perspective on just how much time travelling takes in Classic. Minimizing that and been levelling at a pretty good pace.

Money does seem difficult to come by. Been trying to sell ore and herbs on AH, but even then, a stack sells for like 50 silver. Sure, it’s something, but considering how one has to spend it…
