I really need to try and get back into the game, and maybe I’ll try my light/thief style build instead.
Anti-peeve; had a productive day with tabletop hobby stuff, both assembly and priming. Sorted out all my cards and things for Star Wars Legion, and found a very good rule-breakdown video on Youtube that’s helping my squirrel brain deal with how it all works. Huzzah.

Jumping into the Elden Ring discussion, I really should get back to playing it. After banging my head against (and finally making my way through) Caelid and deciding that place stinks, I felt proud of myself.
Then I stumbled into the ‘Lake of Rot’ and switched the game off, never to return.
Even now I am still filled with fear. 
Have you done Altus yet?

I believe I started Altus! I did the climb up there, at least. Honestly if my route was mapped out on Elden Ring it’d look like a child using an etch-a-sketch for the first time ever. Just a crazed swirl all over the entire map!
You need to do Leydell which is to the right of Altus to continue “the plot” but there’s a few bosses and therefore EXP to be grabbed up there plus going left takes you to Mt. Gelmir which is also pretty good EXP.

I am tempted to get Elden Ring now that it’s in Steam sale, my friends recommended it to me. So now I wonder… is it worth it, and how good are heavy armor builds? That’s what I tend to play.

History youtube and podcasts quite often degenerate into bizzare fanfiction and political tracts. It’s made worse still by some such people being actual historians with degrees but carrying the same biases as the self taught hearts of iron gamers raised on reagan and red scares.
Buyer should definitely beware when it comes to alternate history thought experiments too.
