I donât have a single favorite installment, but I find things to like in 3, 4 and 5.
5 definitely has the best graphics and overall vibe, but 4 has by far the best story. (The original. Expansion stories are trash.) I also think 4 has the best music.
6 and 7 I pretend donât exist.
Also, ironically, the elven faction is not the first choice in any HOMM game for me. Itâs either knights (Castle/Haven) or wizards (Tower/Academy).

After many many runs in timewalking I encountered a new bug (to me) in blackrock caverns. Either the trash before or the first boss set my max health to 1 when they got pulled, immediately oneshotting meâŠas the tank.
Thankfully the first boss is kind of a joke assuming your DPS donât stand in the spincleave (which they didnât!) so we didnât wipe, but yeah, small indie company.
That also means I havenât yet broken my streak of at least one death on that boss every time, but at least this one was due to a stupid bug rather than poor play.

Yeah sometimes they decide to just delete you from the game : / Dunno which ability causes that but it may be the stun.

But yes, I am late to the HOMM discussion, but 5 was also my favourite. I liked quite a few of the factions, but if I had to pick my absolute favourite⊠probably the Dwarves. I always had a thing for the slow but extremely durable units, as I tend to like turtling in strategy games too. Haven and Orcs are good seconds, Necromancers come behind that ( they were broken af before Dark Power was introduced, one battle could immedeatly gain you over 1k skeleton archers).
It was only very late, embarassingly late, that I realised they were singing Mozartâs Lacrimosa hereâŠ
I felt so cozy just looking at my town in a volcano-crater⊠this was the Dwarven theme of Hammers of Fate, the expansion to HoMM 5.
Orc battletheme of the Tribes of the East expansion. They had an ability that did damage the bigger your army was, so that was also quite hilarious. Funnily enough in this setting, the orcs were a race that was designed by the wizards, as a result of mixing humans with demons, until they rebelled and broke out to find their own place in the world.

I admittedly havenât played enough Oblivion to remember what is and isnât a bosmer in it, I know the dumb Adoring Fan is a bosmer.
If the perenoid guy is a bosmer I would not be surprised either.

I like them too. Theyâre actually not original pieces but these ready-made short tunes bought and mixed into longer, coherent melodies. Thatâs why you might hear them elsewhere; theyâre traditional folk music or someone bought the license to use a particular section used in the mix.
They donât, theyâre ubisoft and theyâve left the lore hanging for over 12 years.
Sometimes I dunno if the ads I get served are targeted and theyâre wrong or if theyâre random.
