you can see a bit of the alpha gameplay in the gif at the top of this link, along with some other pics/words.

But it is worth stressing it’s alpha. A lot can change - hell, everything could change - and how the combat looks now vs. how it plays need not be the same.

They should’ve made it a first person shooter with wall running and double jumps and also you can call down a summoned elemental that is of titanic size and falls from the sky when you summon it. You can either fight alongside it on foot or mount it to take direct control.

I still remember when it was gonna be a multiplayer only Anthem game instead of a direct sequel.

It began development officially in 2015.
