My main gripe of base Cyberpunk has still not been fixed, and never will be because of how engrained it is into the core. The Corpo life path may as well not exist, despite being my favourite one. As soon as that intro finishes you might as well be playing a street kid for the way you talk and act, despite a few token dialogue options.
In particular I did one side quest yesterday where my V was talking to a corpo like he was the scum of the earth, despite being one himself not that long ago.
The other two fit in a lot better, with Street Kid basically being the canon choice.
I really want to go back to Cyberpunk for the new update, but like you I got a few gripes that will never change. But I think I just need to get past them and accept it.
For me, my biggest gripes are:
The massive-skip forward after meeting Jackie/not enough Jackie.
Life-paths in general doesnât really seem to matter much. Corpo is hit the hardest by this like you said, but the game as default seem to just roll with that youâre a streetkid.
The writing for Johnny Silverhand and the amount of Silverhand in the game. The best moments are when he is barely present, those quests and missions are actually pretty good. The worst is anything that focuses on his story or when he plays a major role directly.
I hope so! And yeah I can see why people dont mind or outright like him, but I found it way too overbearing at times and generally kindaâŚtrying to hard? It really does feel like he was someoneâs OC from the tabletop and they really wanted to elevate just how ultra special he is.
Also bonus point for things I want in Cyberpunk: Gangs. Let me join the Moxes.
But heâs wholesome chungus breathtaking!!
In fact, whenever heâs not on screen, all the other characters should ask âwhereâs Johnny Silverhand?â
The only quest i really struggled with on my first try was the stupid fighting ring vs the guy who put himself in two bodies. Because in CPR fashion, their brawl mechanics suck when restricted.
My Sindarin teacher suggests translating âHow old are you?â as âHow many years have you seen?â and I think itâs awesome enough for me to incorporate into RP.
The more I think of Shadowlands, the more obvious it becomes just what massive cuts it suffered and how much the developers had to recycle and repurpose to scrape some semblance of the thinnest of plot threads out of a concept that wasnât coherent to begin with.
It gives me headache.
Iâm now reading Wowpedia articles on Shadowlands lore and they give me more headache.
Though Veânari is the only Broker operating in the Maw, as she escapes assassins of Cartel Ve who are trapped with her, the Brokers in Oribos of Cartel Ba somehow managed to procure items from the Maw for KelâThuzad.
Thatâs âsomehowâ as in âsomehow, Palpatine returnedâ, no doubt.
Also, how come Brokers, whose story relevance is limited to Veânari and a side dungeon, display so much variety in their looks, while Attendants, residents of what was supposed to be the main hub of the expansion, are recolors of the same two models over and over? Actually come to think of it, why does Oribos, the hub city, look so boring compared to Tazavesh, a dungeon with no relevance to the main plot, I just⌠argh
