Gentle hugs to both of you.
Vixi wthell did you do to your transmog?!
I equipped the âWelcome backâ gift items and forgot to mog it back.
I want old, aggressive always-pointing-her-weapon-at-you-Vixi back
Ice queeny-ness.
Tsundere.
In all seriousness, she got what she wanted with dragonkind being blessed by the world to defend it rather than more titan meddling with her species.
But. . .Azeroth herself in BfA refers to herself as a Titan. . .
the pieces Levey. . .they donât fit. . .
Itâs funny how tacked on this one is, as if Odyn wasnât a pretty morally dubious character already. Thereâs 0 indication that the relationship between Odyn, the Valarjar and the Thorognir brood is such a cruel one and, like others have pointed out, the oathbreakers under Nithogg run rampant across Stormheim.
Itâd be like in the next expansion the writers say that actually all night elf sabers are abducted at a young age and whipped into submission by the sentinels and in reality they would just all want to go home to the wilds but they have âsworn an oathâ and canât leave their masters.
Sheâs our titan. Itâs different, somehow.
Or sheâs a Zereth.
a zeroth
she is both six and seven
Thereâs an implication you can take here (and a headcanon I fully accept) that world souls are not Titans, and their obsession with with ordering things that exist outside of them but a little too chaotically for their taste (see: the emerald dream) also spreads to other planets.
That Azeroth is a world-soul infused with Life, not Order.
We have strayed too far from Metzenâs dream and like Icarus shall burn for this mistake.
Weâve always had hints like this - the fact that life predates the Titans by some margin, that anything placed by the Titans has had cataclysmic consequences on the world, leaves the surrounding area barren - literal robotic facilities - and has largely been fixed by life (see the Well of Eternity drawing Sargeras to it and exploding, being fixed by Nordrassil growing over it)
Theyâre just making that subtext closer to text now
Legionâs lorebooks and chronicles/the old RPG state that it was Freya who allowed the first vessels of life to spring after the choking of the planet by the Old Gods and the subsequent liberation by the Titans though, which contradicts this lore viscerally.
My bad, that was old lore that Chronicles changes (a canonically Titan-written source hmm scratches chin sardonically very interesting), that tauren and trolls predate the Titans.
Still, the idea has cool story threads one could weave - certainly weaves things like why Sargeras stabbed into Azeroth into explaining why only now has Azeroth been able to interact with the world and Hear. Feel. Think. her way along
Titans producing robots to assert their ways was always alien interference. Worlds not normally having souls and forming by an abundance of spirit energy connects with the whole cosmic spirit lore.
Be it Amanâthul or Winter Queen, weâre dealing with more than their robotic husks.
Titan propaganda. By what definition is anything alive? Azeroth teemed with swarms of old god making and very much sapient elementas and their lords.
Futher contradicted by the yaungol being the tauren protoform genetically engineered by titan-made mogu and Nazmir lore making troll high culture another titan cargo cult.
The trolls being made in Azerothâs image, supping from the Well of Eternityâs arcane magic, mutating into night elves and immediately working on grinding the world under their boot heel is just so good, mwah, couldnât give a better description of the Titans and their influence if I tried
I personally doubt that Metzen cares all that much, or that he will be a based king and publicly retcon everything that people dislike that came after Legion.
At this point, I think itâs a fifty-fifty toss-up between worldsouls being inherently Titanic that other cosmic forces seek to corrupt for their own ends and worldsouls being confluences of power unaligned with any cosmic force, that all cosmic forces seek to corrupt for their own ends, Titans included.
And I think the distinction between the two is so minor that I honestly donât care about which one is canon by the end of the Worldsoul Saga.
I paid ÂŁ125 for that book bible series, they can decanonize it from my cold, dead hands. Iâll consider it a âpoint-of-view bookâ (that has a bunch of lore abt stuff the Titans would have no clue about, strangely), when I hear Metzen utter the words on a Blizzcon stage.
That we have reached the stage of âplease god just get this 100-times retconned story out-the-wayâ is a sign that we have already strayed down a dark path.
