Pet peeves: The return (Part 6)

Why we should deffo vote these tory crapstains out of the government.

Labour is still hella transphobic.

woah, woah now

you can say many things about The Urfather, but a Tory? that’s too far

Exactly. Nurgle IS kind and compassionate. He does not deserve such slander.

Labour are bad but the Tories are very bad. That is, alas, the choice we’re presented with.

I’ll be unhappily voting Labour.

As we all will be. Annoyingly Keir Starmer will take it as loving support rather than begrudging.

Oh no, same. Don’t take that as me saying we should vote Tories (we should not)

Just damned either way for us in particular.

Tactical vote up here for me is SNP, so :pensive:
Though hilariously I’ve already had two Tory leaflets through the door. Not at all lining up what they can do, their positives, their vision, oh no; their entire thing, now as then is “If you don’t vote for us then the SNP will get in, and won’t that be terrible?!

Speaks volumes. Same as it did with Corbyn, only problem was idiots listened because “Hurr duur socialism is Communism”. Spoon fed by the flipping Americans…

the whole tory campaign is the idea that things will be worse under any other party

which is very hard to believe

But Labour!
But the Lib Dems!
BUT SOMEONE ELSE!

It’s always been the Tory way. They’ve been in power for over a decade and still blame anyone but themselves.

Also, this is in my head

Think the writing is on the wall for the tories; their recent shennanigans about national service probably isn’t even about regaining or getting new voters. But rather to patch up their own sinking ship. Stopping the voterbase from slipping to Reform.

You have MPs defecting to other parties while Reform are leeching a chunk of their base.

It’s funny how this is the current angle for our conservative parties here too. ‘XYZ party will be really bad! Vote for us instead, we’ll stand for you!’

said party is known to be at best an useful idiot for the Fire Nation btw

Always the way.

This and the pension things seem to be pandering to the old.

They know the young people are going nowhere near them so they might as well double down on their likely demographic, and like Aerilen said they can’t risk losing votes to Reform so are doubling down on extreme right wing talking points to try and keep them.

They know they’re not winning but they’re trying to keep as many seats as they can.

Friendly reminder if you don’t vote you’re actively shooting yourself in the foot

It literally takes 10 minutes - if that to register on the .gov* website.

*this site doesn’t get enough praise by the way.

The SNP have imploded anyway and will likely continue to do so. Kate Forbes will probably be their new leader after Swinney takes the massive L in the upcoming election for them – she’s effectively on the Tory right when it comes to social and LGBT issues.

It’d be the gold standard, ideally

It will forever bother me that they insist so heavily on pushing every piece of Scottish govt. power towards independence instead of just trying to cement, reform and improve the powers of devolution alongside Wales and Northern Ireland. But I guess this nation is forever doomed to pick itself apart and fight amongst itself.

In terms of its policies under Sturgeon I liked the SNP (and I continue to like my regional equivalent, Plaid Cymru). But focusing on increasing devolved powers would be my preferred direction in Wales, for sure.

I do think that the Scottish people should be the ones deciding on if they should have a referendum rather than Westminster, though.
