what is the point in their vision though?.. When it comes from a player anticipation and vision inherently? You know?
Its like ‘‘I hear what you want players! You want this!! But I am going to give you -That- Instead! Why are you unhappy?!’’
Its like… They know where our expectations lie and what we want as far as player housing goes. But their going to go out of their way to do their ‘‘vision’’ instead… And be surprised later people are gonna be unhappy… I for one am like… Lets avoid that maybe? If we’re really gonna do this. Lets do it right.
yes your 150% right . about that.
its the same as jealousy for my wow life and one of my rare weapons in the game,.
just ignore and move on.
and for the housing i already talked about it in another topic but i say my opinion here too
i want to be able to create my house in whatever map and zone that i want.
i want it to gather the materials . like wood - stones and everything that i need from the nature of the game .
i want to see a new profession for this in game.
it shouldnt have anything that allows you to buy with real money for your house in the game.
neighbor thing should be good. lets seee what they do about it.
it should be one house per account.
Probably not, from what i understand they also want a social aspect, basically your house to exist in a neighbourhood with other players, and from the tidbits for information i heard so far it will be the LOTRO system.
I don’t remember this feature when i played it, the house was isolated somewhere in the sky, although it had some social features, like being able to gather from other player’s farm and there was like a mini-dungeon you could do with friends, but i’m not expecting this type of interaction in WoW.
I got this idea from the update too. It’s not an overall bad system.
I am hoping the crafting system is incorporated into a public areas and not confined to your house given that crafting requires stations. That you cannot advertise in the trade channel from the neighborhoods and that actually requires you to load your cart and haul your donkey (apparently using any other form is no no facepalm) to the city to peddle your wares. Otherwise it would be WoD garrisons all over again.
The actual 3D system they mentioned got me a bit excited and I hope this allows for the most finer of details. Like if I want to add books horizontally or vertically to a book shelf that I can. Or if I want to stack items onto to other items such as a goblet on the dining table that I can. I can position it any where on that I object as I please.
Overall I have dumbed my expectations down because I was expecting housing on the ESO scale but after reading the update it went straight to LoTRO style and sizes.
I just want more customization to my garrison as its been my housing for over a decade now. Other than that i want housing to have racial skins i want a Dwarven house and if the housing is again just either a human house or orc hut i really have no interest in the whole thing.
Really worried we’re gonna end up with just an over all Alliance/horde themed house with basic human and orc decor. I mean thats fine… If you play an orc or human but. I hope blizzard will try to make it appealing for all race fantasies.
my concern is that… Player expectations lie much higher than that. People will compare it to other mmo housing and garrisons. And Im afraid there will be a really bad backlash… And then blizzard will go ‘‘Oh okey that flopped… Not touching player housing again’’… And it becomes abandoned. Just like Garrisons.
My only hope is that. Blizzard packs as much of a punch into this one. Too make it as great as possible. Don’t rush player housing to meet a deadline. Make it as awesome as possible with the time it requires. Like they used to do things in the past.
This is the absolute truth. As I said in another post that it did not surprise me human and orc housing is what they would opt for first. Given garrisons etc. However I do feel disappointed that there was not another 3rd option. For a 30 year old game coming so late to the PH party, I for one would expect them to at least try pull out one mind blower and offer a 3rd but stunning option. Elven housing would have made sense.
Timely for some would mean with the Midnight expansion. They can’t afford to drag their feet too long on this one. Especially since PH also feels like an attempt to retain and keep what is left of the the player base and if successful has the potential to even bring back some more.
From what I gather, Holly is behind it all and she is championing content casual players, so I think it’s more to do with trying to entice that mainly forgotten part of the playerbase.
Casual players or not alike… Play more than just Humans and orcs. And have more racial fantasies as such you know?..
Idk… I think it is a mistake on Blizzards part if they wanna mainstream housing into an over arching Horde and Alliance theme just to generalize things and make it simple.
Its going to backfire… Knowing wow fans? I can almost guarantee it… They expect awesome player housing on par with what they have seen in final fantasy and star wars the old republic etc.
This is one feature blizzard should not want to mainstream and make too simple or too easy or be too lazy about.
They are up against mmo games who have done housing for years… They are the mmo company people expect A quality content from… This feature should pack a punch.
