Please fix matchmaking and MMR

If you are playing as a healer and do not win all or lose all often, of course, to you it will not happen often.

Over many DPS rounds with different healers every time, I can assure you it happens enough.

Since neither you or I have data to submit on the matter, the discussion can end here, but just keep in mind that if you are a healer yourself and don’t lose every round, you cannot witness it happen. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t. And since you barely have 100 DPS rounds played with your entire account, well… you can’t really say if it does happen often or not from a DPS standpoint. Not enough data.

rating unchanged

thats the wow arena for me atm

just won a game 4-2 with 2 people full green. Rating= +14.

I wrote and deleted so many words. I dont want to be banned

It feels like even if you dominate a lobby as healer, you never get more than 5:1 because of so many outside factors. That don’t apply when there is a weak link dps who is going 0:6.

Tbh I can only remember 2 times I went 6:0 with all my healers together and that was probably a placement game. And none where I was 0:6. because usually you always win 1-2 games

But hey we don’t have statistics I guess , so everything is fine. Let’s aim for the 40 minute dps que time next

Yep.

It’s ridiculous.

I mean, I tried resto druid for like the first time in 5 years and I got 2200 in shuffle under 100 games.
I know healer have MMR problem compared to dps.
But you can still climb my man.
There are reasons why healers manage to get 3000 rating I shuffle. Be better than the enemy healer.

X to doubt. But you can proof me wrong.

But even if, looking at my pally , 2,2 in 90games is 65% win rate. That’s not a winrate you maintain while climbing. So the example would tell you you need 60+% win rate as healer to climb ? Which competitive game expects anything over 51% etc ?

Highest healer is 2800 ( not even top 120 btw ) and highest Druid is 2700

So where do you get that from ?

Here no one says you can’t climb , the problem is that is unproportinal more difficult and grindy compared to dps with literally statistics showing that healer pool has less mmr overall

There is ONE healer in the top 100 players in Solo shuffle in EU and they are Rank 86, there are FIVE healers in the top 200 players, and two of them are the same person.

If Healers can gain rating at the same rate as DPS I guarantee you more healers will queue, which means faster DPS queue times.

How can anyone look at that DPS to Healer ratio and not see a problem and just think “lol healers are entitled”?

Nobody disputes that healers should climb rating and MMR for WINNING lobbies - the entitlement creeps in when they want the same for NOT winning lobbies.

No ? It’s about 3:3 and overall low mmr compressing the mmr gains and making higher loses more likely.

Healer basically have to climb with their mmr always being closer to their cr than dps because dps have less draw lobby’s compressing it.

Healer don’t want to „win“ 3:3 Lobby’s but not be punished for them happening outside of their control

Specially the healer who faces a lower mmr healer but it doesn’t matter cause a dps 0:6 with even a r1 behind him. But still one healer gains nothing the other even loses mmr

Meaning the next won lobby’s means less gain too. So it’s double punishment

The point of the thread from op is to highlight there is a problem with the rate at which Healers can gain rating / MMR.

The ladder clearly indicates this is the case, a 99:1 ratio, or 195:5 ratio for DPS to Healers is clearly indicative of a problem with the MMR system and the way Healers are able to gain rating compared to DPS with the way MMR is calculated for healers being 1 v 1- is that fair to say based on the ladder?

Lobbies are, after all a rotating 3 v 3, it is not a 1 v 1 game where it is healer vs healer with no outside factors, four other players have a direct impact on your ability to win or lose, regardless of how well you as an individual perform - is that also fair to say?

The ladder literally speaks for itself, 5 healers in the top 200 players clearly indicates the system doesn’t work for healers, were the system working and attributing rating gains and MMR at the same rate you’d expect approximately 30 healers to feature in the top 200 players (Check for yourself on Checkpvp), and this problem isn’t isolated to the top of the ladder. The current cut off’s for Rank 1 titles in SS are also on average 200 rating lower for healers than their counterpart DPS specs, that should also tell you something.

There is simply less incentive to queue SS over BGB where rating is gained at the same rate as the rest of the team for the same effort, which means DPS will suffer longer and longer queues for SS while more healers migrate away from the mode.

The current system doesn’t work for healers and attacking individuals and examining their win / loss rate isn’t helpful, nor is it particularly relevant.

Yes? Aka…not winning the lobby?

Healers don’t deserve to gain anything for not winning and they don’t really deserve to lose anything for not winning except maybe a small MMR drop if they lose to a lower healer. They should ideally stay where they are, as I said previously, but for some reason I have to keep repeating myself to you. Reading not your strong suit?

The OP literally has a 45% win rate at 1600 rating, do you truly think they’re where they are through more fault of others than of their own, or the system? Do me a favour.

Sticking you on ignore before I turn into a parrot.

Maybe generally, but not for them. 45% win rate, 1600 rating. That’s a skill issue.

It’s very relevant. A player that literally loses more than they win at a rating 100+ lower than the DEFAULT mmr has zero right to complain about anything and should focus on doing the fundamental basics of the game right before crying for compensation for incompetence. Not a difficult concept to understand.

I do not and will never accept the proposition that negative win rate 1600 cr healers are the victims of a flawed system. The system is a separate conversation and one that the OP is not punished by.

But okay, you’re another one I need to repeat myself to. Healers should not be rewarded for not winning lobbies, they should not be overly punished for drawing, and they should not be punished for winning lobbies. Now that I have dumbed this down for a 2 year old to understand, I hope you can understand my position clearly now. If you need me to pretend it’s an 18 month old I’m talking to, do let me know.

I will be perma banned soon but I dont know when. I am sick of playing with fresh 80s. People max level in 10 gours and jump in solo with full greens no idea what they do.

I dont want to play with 90 rating people because they have no idea about their class.

Match them with similar rating players and problem solved! How hard is it?!!

Every game 3-3 every GAME!!! I dont want to lose games because of these people. Why I am not matching with 2.4k players but 90 rating players match with 1.9k? What is this?

I can explain it to you but I clearly cant understand it for you

 chills, such a cool boy

You’re deliberately obfuscating the point and failing to see the issue.

Literally pointless in having this conversation because you’re fixated on individuals rather than the actual point.

It’s better to get 90 CR ppl at 1.9k MMR and go 3:3 than get 2.4k rated ppl and go 0:6 lol

It’s not that often that you get matched with low CR ppl at 1.9k MMR and , and most times they do know what they’re doing, they’re just late to the party. You get matched with a person that is actually new like once a week, bcos wow PvP is so hostile to noobs.

The irony of your comment. I have already said the system is problematic for healers that win lobbies and lose MMR. That’s unquestionable. The system is not a problem for negative win rate 1600 rated healers, they’re just bad and have no right to complain, just like the OP. Hope this helps!

Should bm not go 6-0 every lobby ?

its every game 1 at 1.9k cr. What do you mean with it’s not often? I say every game at least 1 or 2 people is fresh 80 with full greens. I dont want to play iwth 2.4k rated omg. There is no point to talk to you.

If there even comes next as once most realise this they just stop que, we have seen the decline in healers playing shuffle for past 2-3 years now and the statistics presented even to this thread tell the same. I wouldnt heal shuffle even if wow gave me gold per lobby I join, its super antifun and waste of nerves as healer to even play that mode and then realise that dps gains more from it.

As of now anyone can que blitz with some dps and gain and enjoy their game more than any healer ever will shuffles. There is permanent challenger accounts who have took 2.1-2.4 first weeks in blitz and ppl considering here why nobody wishes to heal shuffles when its huge strain to even go 2100 there as healer. The game has multiple issues which need to be seen in bigger picture and healers in shuffle has been one of them for years now. Now they added blitz to the mix by giving it same ranks as other modes.

At the end of the day, if Im not having fun in some mode in a game I wont play it. Currently looks like a lot ppl have just quit healing, we got suffle and blizz to thank for that.

Case in point:

Play against balance druid.

Get root + beam.

The spriest swaps me in root + beam.

They switch me. I can’t cast. I get out of the beam just in time to guardian spirit myself and it procs. GG, no GS for the rest of the game.

Ty spriest. Should have swapped the other DPS and not me, the healer in a beam. I really needed that guardian spirit later but it was on CD due to what the spriest did.
