This is horrible. And they should know this from retail. This removes the social aspect from classic once again. The fresh server starts to look less and less interesting. Nobody likes it, everybody comments negative. And still they go on with it.
The layer thing was the straw that broke this old camel’s back. I’ll stick to era 
Drama Queens. What do you want, 10 servers, so 8 can die and you can yell “merge” while economy goes to hell. You know like you did in ERA?
The LFG tool isnt going to be teleporting you to the instance like retail right. Anyone with info regarding this?
Here’s my suggestion if you like.
With this approach players will be distributed among several realms and eventually end up into a single server. If some realm becomes crowded, guilds and individuals will migrate away to escape queues, making things balanced.
Basically it’s the same layers but with weekly hop CD and without automatic hopping. And with fancy names, of course.
No, it will not teleport you anywhere. It works like M+ search tool in retail. You list your group into a finder, people apply to your group, you invite them if you want and then you can travel to the dungeon. Basically removing 99% of LookingForGroup spam.
No its the same as the addon/tbc lfg.
Even “no honor decay” change is in Era now?
Well, sounds like Era starts to be something I really like. Apart from the part I am bit late to that party. And yeah, I have no doubt Blizzard has no self-control about changing things. Just a matter of if the said changes are quality of life or complete new additions…
They stated there would be changes - I think it is factually incorrect for people to assume “this change benefits 1 over a million”, I think many players who saw these changes are even more hyped and enjoying their time in their own guild discord or communities hyping themselves for a successful classic launch.
You are never too late for era! Come to Firemaw and see for yourself, a lot of players still around and leveling up. You get both guild raids, SR pugs, and GDKP if that’s your thing
Yes it is so depressing that Blizz only care for streamers and speedrunners (bullies 
) and not for casuals and larger minorities like HC and RP players.
Yes, if you want to have the worse lvling experience in your life, by all means join Firemaw.
Where is the proof in that statement?
No release has been near as successful as the 2019 Classic release. TBC, with the boosts and mounts starting going downhill. WotLK and Cata even more. SoM? SoD?
Nothing has come close to the game that those who played 20 years ago demanded.
Is that a new perspective from Blizzard? Or have they been doing this for 20 years now morphing the game into retail?

Well, they have stated repeatedly that they were gonna take inputs from the community before making changes. The first sentence of the blue post announcing Dual Spec speaks of player feedback.
I will still comment on it though: Blizzard is on a quest for a Classic+. Once you understand that, you understand that there won’t be any true Vanilla release from them anymore.
You like it or you don’t - it’s everyone’s personal choice - but that’s certainly how it is.
Where did they said that about these classic classic servers? They only said that about the SoD. And guess what. SoD had a good start but died out rapidly. One of the issues about this is that the community never agrees on changes and will keep asking for new changes / nerfs and buffs. Thats why it always ends up as a failure
Agree - That does not change the fact I believe it is a massive mistake, further diluting the value of the game.
Nothing this team can release, will ever be as good, fun and magic as Vanilla WoW was and is. Nothing. If they believe this, they are smoking some good stuff.
We are talking here about one of the most important games of all time, both in terms of popularity and cultural impact - a complete masterpiece, which crushed it in the origianl release and in the re-release, after the success of multiple private projects in between.
You put that on the table, and you compare that to the direction things have taken since the TBC release (mounts, boosts, no /spit) and either you cry, or you realize what an insulting comparison that is.
This being said - I also find it fine to fine and tweak things for people like you who want to experience it. But why have they butchered elements of Era? Why can’t people see Vanilla WoW is the ONE game to preserve?
Without itemization and normal patch cycle without being stuck on 1.12, Classic was already a disgrace for a game. I was there in Vanilla, but came to accept that it will never come in the true state in should be in, but still want to enjoy the world. This focus on the re-release and it’s success, it was understandable, due to it not being available for all those years before. These changes are good for playability and get rid of GDKP, once TBC will come close, lets see what they do then.
GDKP is major cancer - Why it is not banned on Era is beyond my understanding.
Being “stuck” in 1.12 is a blessing to me, since I do not need to keep up with anybody, lose progress, etc.
The perfect solution is to keep Era, Era (and kick the GDKPers) and give you the changes crowd what you want.
I can live with that - I just know what will happen, again, and again, and again.
