You completely missed the point. If you play the way you do, then yes, that will happen. For a lot of others that play less content and at a slower pace, that just isn’t happening(it just sounded like you aren’t able to take this perspective). For those(me included), an LFR piece or similar will not be replaced for a long time. It’s been weeks since the patch came out, and I am no where near your suggested itemlevel. It’s not a problem from me btw, but it means that I will keep the same items equipped for a lot longer than players like you.
got it <3
Yeah i missed your point
It does, because it enhances the RPG feel and character development. If this wasn’t an actual progression path, we would not have been showered it cosmetics, which we are. It might not matter to you, but it’s a very valid progression path for many others. Equal to the ilvl of your gear.
And people are also angry about PL in M+ being absolute trash. The only reason it sort of works is because it’s farmable unlike the raid.
Even if they bring back the “DO YOU NEEEEEED???” system to raids your chances of getting upgrades will be miniscule, but at this point it’s not about reason anymore. People just want to feel loot on their hands even if it’s useless.
False,because:
- You will get whispers under all loot systems
- At the beginning of every season, every loot piece you get is an upgrade to the previous season, under PL you get guaranted upgrades, not minuscule
False again. More often than not,the loot recived is not useless ,it becomes useless later in the season when all you need is a specific ring neck or trinket
And thats a universal issue that would arrise under ANY loot system
From a human nature point of view, investing time and effort into something that gives back, feels infinitely more rewarding than losing to someone who died at pull or some bis player who rolls to sell or for their friends
No loot system is as toxic as group loot
Exactly. The real problem with all systems is the unpredictable nature. Farming the same challenge dozens of times for an item makes it feel like payment rather than a reward.
Which is why simply bringing back PL wouldn’t be a solution, just a different kind of garbage.
You really try to gaslight me into thinking that personal loot upgrades are useless, when a new season starts the ilvl jump is like 20 levels?
Lol,these people with 3-4 raid items equipped in second week of a new raid, always complaining about PL
For pug and lfr,PL all the way
For the rest ,you can knock yourselves our with any loot system but dont bring toxic garbage GL to pugs, I never hear people to get kicked at Fyrakk 5% until group loot was introduced
No I’m saying your chance of getting an upgrade with PL is the same as pressing need on literally everything you can with GL. It’s just a lot more random so you may end up with 4 items a week or zero for several weeks.
People don’t like too much RNG in their progression and as I said the only reason PL is tolerated in M+ is because it has no lockout.
Even in SL (which you guys are glorifying nonstop) most upgrades came from M+ or the vault, while raid loot relied heavily on the goodwill of people to trade stuff around. As does M+ right now, but I guess you consider that a pug friendly mechanic right?
Do you agree that personal loot is the best in the beginning of an expansion where every piece of loot is an upgrade, especially with the high ilvl jumps we had in DF?
Do you agree that later in an expansion, when all you need is 1-2 items, both group loot and personal loot being non deterministic, will give “useless” loot? Why is the “useless loot” used to push the anti PL agenda, when GL does the same thing at a certain gear progression?
These two questions ,every GL supporter, avoids to answer and twists and turns words hoping to gaslight you
No, because atm the raid group gets 0.20 items per player while in SL it got 0.15. So in the beginning as long as each armor/weapon type is covered by the group you get more upgrades.
You don’t get it. I’m not arguing about which one is better. I’m saying both suck, for different reasons. And simply bringing back PL won’t solve the real problems that delay gearing, it’s just a cosmetic band aid for people who approach the problem from an emotional perspective instead of rationally.
You completely disregard the fact that GL can drop items that nobody needs ,bows in raids without hunters etc, which happens a LOT so its way less loot per person and a terrible loot distribution where some players get more than others due to rng.
Also, you are only reffering to organized groups not lfr or pugs, which is where the problem lies
Also…at the begining of a season,Group loot dropping bows and glaives and 2h swords in groups that cant use it,is a complete waste of loot as opposed to Personal Loot where EVERYONE gets an upgrade based on their class and chosen spec
A feedback that i received from some collegues that play very casually, is that they disliked PL because it gave to them loot they already had and with them playing very litle (2-3 Hours at week) they dont enjoyed it.
On this board where we are more invested that the average player we dont see it as a problem because we play daily. But i think this could be a reason but only Blizzard possess the actual data to make a conclusion.
Blizzard made the change because they didn’t like class stacking, PL respects the classes and specs present in the raid. GL doesn’t care and just throws random items from the loot table at a group regardless of whether anyone can even use them.
You ignore that apparently we get more items per boss than in SL and it makes up for this even if a third of the drops can’t be used by anyone in the group.
Most of the casuals hate personal loot. If difference. Most higher end group use loot council anyway
The same people wont get anything under group loot either if they are casuals. Group loot encouraged a lot of toxic behaviors so now the chances to win an item with rolls are minimal. Everybody and their mothers are pressing need on anything they can
So whats worse, having loot dropping for your class and spec and a chance at bis items or nothing for weeks in row?
Well, if I compare getting a dozen useless items in M+ vs NOT winning the roll in raids…tough choice.
Except at the beginning of an expansion you dont get a dozen useless items. Everything IS an upgrade especially with the high item level jump we had in Dragonflight
Actually they are getting more loot now with GL with their schedule.
I got a tier from LFR on day 1 and a trinket the next week “when everyone and their mother was rolling”. Do you guys honestly believe the loot is just disappearing?
To be clear: I’d love it if we get one item guaranteed per boss kill, and no duplicates. So if your argument is “we want more loot”, then I fully agree with you.
It’s just that simply reverting to another garbage system that we can literally test now and see how bad it is, won’t be a solution.
