if you get too powerful in warcraft you either become anduin or you start believing that the ends always justify the means (but both the ends and means end up being really dumb), we can also see this in tyrande who started with the latter but is now on the path to anduinification, obviously

Eluvanas made the night elf her favoured in the past because she felt bad about genociding the tree in the present but also can’t change time even after she came back from the future.
That’s why night elves are special to Elune. It’s because Sylvanas burned down Teldrassil which Elune let happen because she had to because time paradoxes.
