What do you mean, the entire named cast can be culled along with their Alliance counterparts. At this point we can have a battle royale of an expansion where we fail to stop Zovaal and every racial leader, as well as their respective kingdoms, tribes and empires, take out the grievances on each other before the heat death of the universe claims them all.
You could slaughter a good 80% of the major characters for a faction if they’d just commit to having it lose the war definitively, to set up the next expansion of underground resistance and internal strife for losers+winners respectively.

MoP featured the Zandalari and therefore your character also technically exists.
also, the MoP Zandalari were much cooler.
Also also, I’d love a character reset of sorts, especially with the main story NPCs, but I worry they’re not able to replace them well.
They could make for interesting storylines about people out of their depth struggling to lead the races in the power vacuum and what other problems this would cause, and it would be a lot more grounded/personal in the setting, but I have no confidence in the story devs and writers to actually do any of that.
I think keeping Anduin/Jaina/Thrall/Baine(lol) is like, the best choice out of all terrible choices. It’s

yeah, but they were the antagonists and not joining the Horde in MoP. hence why Legion reset so no BFA and definitely no Shadowlands.
Legion introduced some ultra-cosmic whatnots though so let’s not.

Honestly we don’t need any reset at all, they just need to stop trying to push a linear narrative. They’ve proven incapable of writing a story with a good flow and plot points that make sense, so trying to do something that they’re just not that good at seems like an exercise in futility to me. The worldbuilding in this game is still fantastic imo, so it’s not like they can’t write ANYTHING, they’re just not that good at going from point A to B and then on to C.
I mean, say what you will about Shadowlands, but I thought the covenants (Kyrians and Venthyr especially) were written very well. If they just had an expansion where they capitalize on the fact the PC is an adventurer and do a bunch of raids that don’t necessarily connect but still have single-patch stories I don’t think anyone would complain.
