But like… she didn’t.
All of that was happening anyway, at most you could say she got Anduin into his mess but even that would have frankly happened regardless and she made it slower by being difficult about it for 4 cinematics until the jailer said “lol, lmao” and just did it.
yeah the hoops the writers have gone through to put sylvanas in this position
My favourite is the randomly inserted prequel bit of Vereesa having a vision of Sylvanas’ “good half” being trapped in the Shadowlands to somehow lend credence to the idea that Sylvanas could be innocent. Vereesa conveniently forgets about it as soon as she wakes up which is why we’ve never heard about it before but trust me it happened, it was all according to plan.
Wether or not this takes place before or after Sylvanas tried to murder her and her children so she could raise them into undeath and live with her forever in the Undercity is not clear, or why this was ever a plan of Sylvanas’ to begin with considering Sylvanas wanted to destroy every living being in the universe.
Just as a sidenote, the Danuserverse doesn’t separately handle these souls, each alternate universe version is a strand and form a rope in the form of a singular soul upon dying.
How they get scavenged by the Kyrians? How do they get judged by the Arbiter afterwards? Who cares, don’t question the Danuserverse.
You’re Maryanne the flower shop lady. For 50 years you sell people roses. Then you pass peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
You Prime Timeline self is Maryanne the Monster; conqueror of the continent and rightly rumoured to bathe in the blood of children to retain her youth. She dies in battle with a desperate alliance formed to stop her.
The two of you are roped into one in the afterlife. Welcome to the Maw for the Monster’s lifetime of unrepentant savagery.
Let’s not get into one iteration living longer than the other.
Whatever happened to that line about alternate universes just being possibilities and not worlds of tangible people until Garrosh connected the timelines? A deleted tweet? I’m pretty sure.
That’s the Chronicles explanation and I’m pretty sure it still holds valid, unless there’s (very likely) been a retcon to it. Like the usual fool, Danuser went the rope-route and overexplained it, when it would’ve been way easier to say alternate universe duplicates have separate souls.
We could have had a double Gul’dan fight in the Sanctum of Domination.
More or less. Timelines being messed with. The bronze were supposed to prevent that but in the bigger picture, what are the titan’s grand designs compared to those of the first ones?
Same problem with; “there’s 1 Legion in the infinite timelines”
It… just… doesn’t… work… like… that.
The thing with infinite timelines is that every minor decision happens.
Which means, there’d be no more infinite realities because all our characters would be demons because at least one of these pieces of “rope” would have made the deal to join the Legion and thus obliterating the “rope” (since there is only 1 legion there’d only be 1 version of our characters)
Basically they doubled down on stupid lore without thinking it through.
My headcanon is that there’s a Timewalkers Death Squad who get sent to such timelines and course correct them with overwhelming firepower, technology or magic to preserve the Danuserverse.
