Imagine transforming one of the most iconic pieces of armour in video game history, so much so that employees who have been at the company for 25 years get a replica, into… Whatever that is. The sheer disrespect to make something so lame.
Y’know, maybe Danuser does have some sort of grudge against the established story. Maybe it’s like a weird Last Jedi mentality of “kill the past”. I fully do not understand what in the world they’re doing, or what this is leading towards in the next expansion.
I mean, she could just recognize through context and reputation. “Whose notable guy in bright paladin special armor, old, has been killed by Arthas, it’s all a feat and stuff? Uther. Ghost with Special Armor, check. Old, check. Clearly killed by Arthas, check.”
Ballador the Bright, Sage Truthbearer, Dagren the Orcslayer, Halahk the Lifebringer and Magroth the Defender. It’s pretty silly to claim Sylvanas could recognised Uther through context and reputation when Uther is the paladin in the Eastern Kingdoms, leader of the Silver Hand and personally trained one of the first high elven paladins as his pupil.
All in all, Sylvanas should have been confronted by Anasterian in that encounter.
Sylvanas: Uther…Uther the Lightbringer!
Gavinrad the Dire: No, I’m-
Sylvanas: Then you can only be…Magroth the Defender!
Gavinrad the Dire: Jus-
Sylvanas: No? Then…Halahk the Lifebringer?
Gavinrad the Dire: Wow. WOW. You really thought of Halahk before me? Really? Okay then. That’s fine, that’s fine!
Sylvanas: Sorry?
Gavinrad the Dire: No, no, it’s fine. Nevermind that I was one of the first five paladins ever. Personally guarded King Terenas’ tomb against Arthas. You know what? I’m done. I’m out.
Sylvanas met Uther in the halls of reflection and she obviously recognizes him on the spot.
Sorry, Sylvanas’ evil twin soul thing met Uther in the halls of reflection, which would retain all the memories of her good twin soul thing which then should know who Uther is. But she doesn’t. Now it all makes sense, thank you writers.
Edit: does that make the Uther in Halls of Reflection Uther’s evil twin soul or Uther’s good twin soul and what does that make the Uther spirit we see at his tomb in various questlines, his morally grey twin soul?
Maybe I’m going a bit loopy after the absolute joyride that has been Shadowlands writing so far but if I understand this correctly:
They don’t kill Sylvanas on the spot because she might have information. She doesn’t have any but says maybe Anduin has. He doesn’t have any information either so they ask the Primus, who says they can turn the Helm of Domination into the Helm of Not Domination and then they go and beat up the jailer (barely an inconvenience).
It feels like step one only exists for Danuser to protect Sylvanas, which at one point in time I would have found pretty funny but now actually find pretty scary and sad.
Primus has been fixing our problems since he was inserted in the story.
Literally why he waits for us to come to him is beyond me. The Helm of Domination was literally chilling in Oribos, ya know where the primus can go aswell… He could’ve told us from the start it was capable of stopping domination magic and then none of this would’ve happened…
Don’t think that I didn’t miss “Evil” Sylv yelling about ‘true freedom’ in the cinematic, a motivation that remains wholely unexplored and undetailed on what exactly it entails.
