PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 1)

Unlike madelynne the merciful/merciless’ indecisive leadership, you’d know what to expect. Reliable, consistent, trustworthy rule makes for long term stability.

I am fairly certain Northeron is in north-Lordaeron, not South Wetlands???

Smells of sulphur 0/10

Northeron is the Twilight Highlands.

Oh hot darn! I still assumed it was that piece of landmass between Ghostlands and Stratholme!

I vow to perform no rituals before public appearances and to maintain fragrant censers throughout the palace at personal expense. Any strange notions of loyalty-inducing fumes is a vile fabrication of Calian usurpers.

By blood and honour, I will have what I am owed.

A retcon!

Copegate is now officially my favourite mini crisis. Every time I look back at it something else has gone off the rails.

So the author doesn’t even have a final copy, he gets told in advance that he can’t comment on it on Twitter (unlike Golden, Danuser and the other hacks) and instead uses his wife as a mouthpiece where they shift the blame of what’s evidently a disappointing product on everyone else who was involved in its making.

It just shows whoever worked on this at ActiBlizz was fully aware that it’s crap before it got published. Why are they this adamant in killing their fanbase’s passion for the setting their predecessors built?

Probably because they think their vision for the setting is superior.

Which most fans don’t agree with, hence why Blizzard reacts like they do

…Welp.

Exploring Kalimdor got pulled from online stores. Amazon lists both the ebook and paper versions as unavailable.

Damn I guess Blizzard can do something right after all. Eventually.

Wondering if they’ll rewrite it to fix it (maybe they wanna fix all the editing problems with the typesetting too…) or just bin the entire project and call it a loss.

Cue GD losing its collective marbles about the woke mob cancelling WoW.

Oh wouldn’t ya know it, there’s a thread. I was just generalising.

They’ll fix it at some point after we get the long-promised lore-accurate revision of Mass Effect: Deception. That is to say, never.

Something something acknowledging you released a subpar product is virtue signaling to appease the SJWs.

(Should probably also throw a “cuck” in there to fill the buzzword bingo)

Doing any in depth lore-ing about the peoples of the Horde is a minefield of old timey racist stereotypes. Eventually, culture would catch up and you’d have to approach the matter tastefully, which they did not.

— But you’ve swallowed this kind of content before! What’s different this time?
— We are.

They did write the lore of the bilgewater goblins settling in Orgrimmar and ruining the river but there’s considerable difference treating it as careless dumping and industry compared to “goblins be goblins”. Zekhan is a shaman and would be aware of how the industrialisation is hurting the land and its living manifestations.

My god what a glorious disaster.
